with the confederate officer
that none of their units could fix bayonets?
Thank you for pointing this out!
It seems to be an error, because in reb officer's config it says Musket (which is Springfield) insteadof Enfield.
Will fix it.

I can't seem to get this mod to run. I put the shortcut on my desktop and in the target box -I added the ending shown in the readme. When I hit apply-I keep getting this message;
The name "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE-mod=CWMOD" specified in the target box is not valid.
What am I doing wrong??

Well thanks for the reply....But I copied and pasted this and put it into the target box:
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -mod=CWMOD
and I still get the invalid path message.
The CWMOD folder (with its Addons and DTA folder inside) go in the OPF main folder, right? Or am I supposed to add the addons and DTA file to the main Resistance addon and DTA folder???
I'd really love to get this mod going..it sounds great.

I copied and pasted this and put it into the target box:
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -mod=CWMOD
That path is exactly what i have and yes you just put the CWMOD folder into the main OFP folder. If you have got any other MOD folders look at there target paths, i'm not sure if this is relevant but have you got a Radeon graphics card and if so you have to put -nomap -mod=CWMOD into the target box
this is what i have "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nomap -mod=CWMOD -nosplash so i can't see how you have a problem.

Things are going faster than expected.
All low-poly lods are done.
Ammo models (if you drop bullets, you can make a nice pile of 60 Minie balls), clips, old binoculars, etc, etc.
I've also already started working on the Zouaves. Here's one:

I was going to ask about those!
Their fez, the 'hat', wasn't that flat on the top?
These guys were said to be great fighters... Was that because they felt they had something to prove, dressed up like that? Kind of like "The Boy Named Sue" http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif
Triglav
Jan 12 2005, 00:11
They wore all kinds of headgear...
Check some models HERE (http://home.nycap.rr.com/lathfam/ZOU/index.html)
And a note to missionmakers.
There were no Spencer rifles at the battle of Gettysburg.
These deadly repeating rifles, as well as Henry repeaters, were only more present towards the end of the war. Much like the dozen or so of Gatling guns used.
I know it's hard to fight with a puny musket, but it's what 95% of Civil War fighting was all about. Try to reflect that in the mission you make.
Thank you.

There was a fad of the mid 1800's of styling military units to look like exotic African or Middle Eastern soldiers that were considered to be elite. Something like the famous Ghurkas of a much more recent time.
These American units would dress in the exotic uniforms of the Zoave, or patterned after them, and train toward the goal of being (or maybe just consider themselves) better than the usual soldier of their time.
This could be likened to American Army units like the Rangers or Airborne wearing berets, before some rocket scientist decided to give berets to ALL Army soldiers... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif

http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif Don't they wear green? The next time I leave cookies and milk out for Santa, I'll have to leave him a note asking him about that!
Still, take note of what these Zoaves represent. Here you have units of one nation emulating the dress of an entirely different nation/philosophy (whatever) in an attempt to be an elite unit. I think, along with emulating the dress, there was an attempt to emulate aspects of military training as well.
This is the opposite of pride or arrogance... Imitation is the sincerest from of flattery!
I admit, I'd feel funny walking the streets of Richmond, Virginia or Washington DC dressed like that, but then that would be MY issue, wouldn't it? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
There's something special philosophically about these Zoave units, and they were highly regarded in their time. I'm glad to see them in this mod!

Alright people heres the bullets and binos, their pretty much done for the most part.
http://www.geocities.com/w_epley/bullets.gif
And heres what they are:
1.The minie ball fresh in the paper and the pouch, all soldiers with muzzle loaders will carry a pouch.
2.The Sharps Cartridges
3.Speedloaders for revolvers (may not be historically correct but its what we decided to go with)
4.The Specer Cartridge magazine (contains 7 bullets)
5. And lastly the Whitworth Hexagonal bullet.
http://www.geocities.com/w_epley/binos.gif
And the Binoculars, not a whole lot to say, they are binoculars.
Thats it from me for now.

nice work there, combat agent....Johny Reb sure could use some of these fighting Billy Yank http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
The battles werent just confined to land battles. Southern states with their too much time freed from working the land by slaves had too much readings of Walter Raleigh Scotts and english mannerism and were enamoured with England and some were even actively lobbying for the states to return to British monarchy!!!
England were supposed to be neutral, letting their anglo saxons cousins kill each other off before reclaiming her colony, but however, cotton were needed for the english factories and an underground supply of cotton for arms were arranged between the confederates and England, thru ships.
Billy Yanks from the northen states who did not have to rely on agriculture and were heavily into industralization, had plenty of ships to blockade such smugglings by johnny rebs, many with forts built to blast the southern ships to pieces as it raced into southern habours with its cargo of smuggled arms.

Sure, we like to help.
1. I posted a link with tons and tons of pictures about Civil War fortifications on page 15 here. Use that, it's excellent.
2. HERE YOU CAN FIND (http://textures.boom.ru/texture/building.htm) some nice textures for walls and such...
3. Screenshots. In game, look at the object, and press "Print Screen". Exit the game, open PaintShop or Photo Shop, open a new document and paste. The shot from ingame should appear. Then cut out the part you wish to show us, upload on some site that allows linking pictures and post it here.

At the onset of the American civil war Zouaves were an American craze, which first hit the shores of the country following the Crimean War, although the Zouaves had existed in the French army for years. Originally recruited from the Algierian Zouaoua tribe in 1831, the Zouaves expanded into three full battalions of nine companies over the next ten years, but by this time the companies were mostly comprised of Europeans who adopted the colorful attire of the native African troops.
During the conflict over the Crimea, and subsequent European campaigns, the French Zouaves acts of valor and gallantry won the Zouaves a place in the annals of military history. So it was only natural that American soldiers would try to emulate their actions on the field of battle.

I'm afraid the textures are not going to get much better than this. It's about the level our skill permits us, and we do not have a specialist texturer on our team.
We are mainly working on playability, historical aspect, immersion (historic sounds, effects, accuracy, equipment).
Fixing bugs...and trying to have some fun doing it.
Which reminds me.
NOONE SENT ME BEER YET!

Beard textures are actually not separate textures, but the same as on the back of the head, so they change colour accordingly to the man's haircolour.
Therefore they are default OFP textures http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
For once not our fault if you don't like them http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif
We have currently also not decided to add blood textures.
In an already strained mod graphicwise (especially if you play with lots of units in large battles), extra textures would only hamper performance further.
I personally also don't want to turn this mod into a bloodfest. Counterstrike is for that. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
If anyone can't live without blood textures, he's welcome to fix them himself.
We have however made a set of custom unit icons for the commander, so that you are not distracted by those modern soldiers at the bottom.

Excellent, excellent stuff! It's another step toward total immersion, and I like being able to at a glance know which soldier is my flag bearer, so I can tell him to stand someplace less dangerous! Or give particular orders to a sniper. Am I correct in guessing the 'Z' character is the Zoave? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/xmas_o.gif

I would like to add my 2 cents in on the blood textures. The OFP system doesnt handle these textures well, i think it is unrealistic. Lets use the orignal OFP and RES as an example. You shoot a soldier in the face, it turns to mush, looks like acid was spilled all over it. From any gun. Hmm. I would suggest if you want blood use ECPs blood or OFPECs blood addon which works better with this mod in particular. Remember this is just my opinion which im entitled too (or atleast in most countries)

This is last time im going to regard this "issue". Actually yes, I would rather see dead soldier in a clean uniform than a dead soldier in a red mushed uniform. Tell me how does a minie ball turns someones face into such carnage, please?(dont answer that) Now if the point of impact was realistically affected this would be a diffrent story, I dont mind gore, but if it looks cheesy, and i can get rid of it, its gone (in this case as long as team members agree, {No I in team}).

Your post there was a bit over dramatic btw. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/unclesam.gif
To anyone wanting blood textures and better quality:
1. Well, first, i say do em yourself. If you can't, don't expect that anyone else could, or even if they could, they would.
2. Some eye-candy like that makes realistical Civil War era missions even harder to make that they are now, as many units with über-textures means LAG. The current ones lag on me anyway if you put too many squads, i don't want to think what would happen with über-high-quality-textures.

The new release will offer, extra units, camp equipment, new weapon, new GUI, new unit icons, fixed lods, and lots of bug fixes.
AI does crouch. But blame the OFP engine for how often he does it.

and do they real life have to stand up when they reload those rifles.
Take it from someone who used to shoot one of those as a hobby, YES they have to stand when they reload, particularly if it's a rifle (not a smoothbore).
I imagine someone's going to say that if you prop one against your boot or a rock you could ram the round down the barrel lying down... But take it from someone who's done it, no you can't practically load a muzzel-loading long arm lying down.
The Spencer? Yep. Not a musket.

I dont know if this has been reported but Union soldiers just wont stab anyone with their bayonets. I dont know if they would use them if I would arm them with enfields. Confederate troops on the other hand charge and use bayonets like they are supposed to.
Did they use winchester rifle in civil war?
Atleast for me, the Union troops do use their bayonets. But wait a second, wasn't that a bug of the first release which was then fixed? I guess there's a fix in the beginning of the thread. (pages 1-4 i guess)

Those tents are looking really good, cant wait to get them into my mission.
I'm running a dedicated sever of my mission tonight at 6 GMT anyone wanting to join should goto multiplayer then click on remote and enter 82.34.82.254 for the IP address and then click connect.
Check the instructions and download the mission here:
http://www.magames.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
Last weeks one was great, thanks to all those that turned up. I'll start the server about 5.45 GMT so everyone can get in and then I will start the game at just after 6 GMT
See ya there

Did they use winchester rifle in civil war?
No, they did not.
The company did not even exist before 1866 when Oliver Winchester bought "New Haven Arms Company" (manufacturer of the Henry) and changed its name to "Winchester Repeating Arms Company"
Facts like these are widely available in the net, to find them, i strongly recommend a search engine.
And no, those were not used in the Civil War either. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif

As medicine sucked in those days, and by far most deaths of soldiers were caused by disease and poor wound treatment, it has been decided that there won't be a "medic" unit you could have with you on the field of battle...
However, if you are wounded, and make it back to camp, you have a chance to get patched up in the Surgeon's tent.

Oh my god, finally a realistic MASH unit, though it's from 1800's, but who cares? Uhh, could it be possible to make it so that when you go to the tent to heal, you have like 50% chance to get healed, 25% and 25% for dying and not getting healed? OK...time for an update.
The camp objects seem to be pretty much done.
http://www.petrov-petrov.si/~triglav/CW/CWCampObjects.jpg
We have 3 different tents + the surgeon tent, the gun stack, a table, a sittable chair, a sittable foldable stool, a bucket, the box of army bread...that combined with some existing objects such as our suttlerwagon, default whiskey bottles and flagpoles should enable you to build a pretty realistic CW era camp.
Combat-Agent is doing his magic on the various details such as the watch, compas, notebook, to make them from the right era, and Pickett is busy making a wonderfully deadly LeMat revolver.
Another Zouave is also done. One from the north's 14th Brooklyn "Red Legged Devils"

Say there is an empty horse, and you are a CW unit, when u get in you turn into the default driver character and use his weapon. So no u dont get to ride and shoot as a CW unit with their own gun. But it is still fun.
Hopefully teh CW team can mod the horse so that the weapon and model are calvary units.

Triglav
Jan 25 2005, 21:54
Yes, this has to do with us putting men closer together.
In standard OFP distance between soldiers is much greater than in our mod, where we tried to simulate tight fomations by reducing the distance between men in a unit, but as each man needs some breathing space, they don't stay in a tight line, but step a step backwards or forwards...then the line looks all messy.

Hi,
if you want closer line formations, the best values are formationX=3 formationY=0 in the soldiers config and the same values for the group organisation in CFGCroups, if soldiers were grouped closer there are too much collisions. It is important that the same distances are written into the cfggroup. This "new formations" work well until combat starts and some soldiers were send out by Ai...
But in general with a mass of 4 groups with 12 men each this looks like a line formation...
If you use these values AI needs an endless time to calculate possible roadways through heavy woods...
so is there any chance that this coul be fixed?http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif

Will you make a campaign in some future release, like you fight from the start of the war to the end? That would be soo cool!

Thanks for the invitation.
This is the 3rd invite to Finland I got in the recent months. I'll really have to give it a go then. ;)
But I hate cold, so I'll prolly wait till summer. I have an aunt in Sweden and I visited her once in December...froze my nuts off. Lesson learned.
As far as a campaign goes. Pickett had a few great ideas about doing a couple of days in a life of a soldier during the Gettysburg battle...we'll think of finishing that first.

how bout this, a young VMI cadet goes with the corps to new market, then enlistes in Confederate army and goes on to be an officer at gettysburg, im sorry but i had to say that, im in like a mega VMI craze right now cause im putting my transfer application together to VMI so i can get out of the hellhole VCU and go to VMI next fall and do something with my life other than play OFP and occassionally go to class and hit up the hardcore and metal shows around richmond, ughhhhhhhh but yeah whatdya think sounds like a winner campaign to me!!!!

I'm in like a mega VMI craze right now cause im putting my transfer application together to VMI so i can get out of the hellhole called VCU and go to VMI next fall. The reason wanting to attend VMI is to do something with my life other than play OFP, occassionally go to class, and hit up the hardcore and metal shows around richmond....ughhhhhhhh... Anyway, this sounds like a winner campaign to me!!!! Furthermore, students of VMI during the Civil War did a treasonous action!!!! So, I think there should be a mission in which you shoot random confederate VMI soldiers who are unarmed.

But can I make a suggestion for the next release, change the formations back to how they are in the original OFP (or adjust the values a bit). If you try to get some of these units in a line formation, they scrunch up and overlap making that formation useless, I liked it the old way where you could combine rows and rows of perfectly lined up soldiers for a much neater formation effect.

Those Zoaves are excellent! I'm very eager for this next release.
This mod arouses passions in a number of ways... Aside from the fact that it's about the most unique of all the mods, and it's well done, the historical setting fires some folks up as well. Count me one of them.
When I was at Auburn University, board wargames were still a big thing. One company released their mapboards as a piece of paper, not mounted. One of their games was a grand strategic game of the War of the Northern Aggression, This Recent Unpleasantness, or as some of you call it the Civil War ("T'warn't nuthin' civil about it!"). One of the players won Gettysburg, or it's equivalent, and marched on Washington. When he got to that hex, the players looked at him blankly and asked him what he was going to do. He smiled, pulled out a cigarette lighter, lit it and touched it to the map where his units had marched to, Washington DC. Good thing it was his game... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif
Excellent units, those Zoaves... and from everything else we know about this next release I'm really stoked for it!

click me gently / 2221x1195 - 2MB (http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/burns/civilwarart.jpg)
Nice one, but not a wallpaper I would personally use as a wallpaper.
I'm planning to make a Civil War-type RPG multiplayer mission, where you can be a civilian, a rebel or a yank. Though I'm thinking of making several roles for the civilians, like robber, banker, weapons seller etc.
And of course, the civvies can (like they did IRL too i guess) get their revolvers and rifles and join the battle on the side they prefer.

Jan 28 2005, 13:32
Errr everyone...
There's a million forums online where you can argue who was right and who was wrong in the Civil war.
The makers of CW Mod distance themselves from taking sides (Except for the yankee-hating Tsalagikola, but that's to be solved between him and his yankee wife... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif ), and would like to keep this thread dedicated to the mod, not to the controversial history behind it.
Answers:
-We're trying to fix the formations so they don't get all messed up, while trying to retain them staying tightly together.
-There is currently no functionable swords/sabres in the mod. In CW they were maily used for parade purposes, while officers preferred to rely on the revolver in battle. To apply a working sword a whole lot of coding, animating, etc would need to be done, which is rather unpractical for us...Maybe we'll work on it for fun in the months after the release, but don't count on it...
-Strike has been added to all the rifles as one of the attack modes. No now a rifle has 3 ways of damaging an enemy...shooting, bayonet, and strike.

uhhh, sorry... ill be a good boy... yea, i gotta chime in on the strike thingy, can AI use it, if not it had might as well not be there, theres no sense in haveing one southerener in 1000 be able to run up to a dirty yank and beat him shitless and then run back to formation, if everyone cant do it....anyway, yea, how bout some sailors and marines??? that would be interseting, after all it was the marines who lost the first battle of bull run... man that hurt to say, im torn between my future career and my future college and my home... that should pose some interresting gameplay for me, run up and kill a marine with tears of saddness running own my cheek...

oh yeah the big brick fort is done, i just need to figure out how to email it as a template, its got a shitload of armstrongs, and quarters for a garrison of a battalion of men, two earthen bunkers where the officers can plan their course of battle, and its got a magazine for the ammo, with a bunch of sulterwaggons inside so you can rearm, ok? its flipping huge so no regimental sized battles here, probebly best to use a company of garrissoned troops and maybe 2 companies of attacking troops, so yeah, gimmie till the end of the day, then email me at andersonjn@<hidden> to get the fort...

Jan 28 2005, 16:23
Yes, the A.I. can use the strike, but it refuses to do so.
Seems there is an ethical script in OFP somewhere that says to the A.I. that shooting an enemy is ok, bashing his face in isn't.

Mr. Josh, I know this has already been adressed, but please do not post your opinion on this thread about who was was right or wrong or good or bad in the Civil War. Really I do want to reply why you are wrong, but I must and will refrain from doing so.
Thank-You
More about the "Strike" ability that has been added to the rifles. The player now will be able to press spacebar at anytime and "melee" will display as your weapon, this will allow you to slap some some nearby soldiers around. Ive noticed sometimes it will kill em in one whack, sometimes 3. Later on i may try to use the bayonet script with this, but im much to impatient to work with anything right now (just got back from MEPS). So there maybe an ablity to get the AI to slap you around also. I think the AI should be able to do anything the player can do. Also, later i want to make or have somebody make a new strokegun animation that looks better and is shorter in time.
About the Derringer. Im pretty much done with it. Theres new optics, fire sound, and reload sound. You can carry as many as bullets as you want for it. I would suggest carry a realistic amount, same for the muskets. Anyway heres a test i conducted on the overall range of the weapon:
For this test i used a human target at various ranges, the results are as follows:
40 meters: 1 out of 12 hits
30 meters: 3 out of 12 hits
20 meters: 6 out of 12 hits
10 meters: 11 out of 12 hits
5 meters: 12 out of 12 hits.
These results indicate that you should probably not bother firing at an enemy farther that about 20 meters, enless your feeling lucky. Im really surprised one bullet hit at 40 meters, that was a lucky shot. I may reduce accuracy later on after further testing is accomplished.
Guess I might as well update you guys about the new gear ive been working on also. Binoculars, watch, and papers (once was the radio)

Would it be possible to make man shooting only with one hand?
I think it was said somewhere that the pistol anims are in the O.pbo and including a modified version of that file would make the download just too big as I think O.pbo was something like 100-200 Mb. Also I remember somewhere was said that they are possibly going to edit the LAW anims and make the pistols to be LAW:s. I think that would be cool, as it could make it possible to see whether the gun is in the holster or not. (You can see if a guy has a LAW or not, as it's in his back.)

And some of the rebel soldiers actually make pretty good desperados already. I'm actually working on a small campaign which uses the CWMOD and is based on Gettysburg. You play the role of an outlaw and i'm already almost finished with the first mission where you rob the bank. The last mission has also been started, as it's the first i made.
Note: I'm very lazy, so if I say i'm working on it, it could be released today, next year or never. So dont expect anything.
Why are you making an outlaw campaign when you should be making a CW campaign? Huh? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif

That's the human nature. You get something you really didn't know you want, but then you want more. You get more, you want even more. So it's like eating a chocolade bar.
And I'd be glad to help, but unfortunately 1. I can't make addons or even proper missions 2. I'm too busy to learn how to make addons or proper missions 3. I'm too lazy to make time to learn how to make addons or proper missions.
So the only way I can help you is by opening my chest (very small chest indeed) of imagination to you. And you can still come get that 50€ if you wish.

Although Trig does most of the "public relation" work, i participated in almost everything you see.
In order to do so, i had to learn O˛, wrptool, texturing, binarizing and numerous smaller tools besides that.
I spent countless hours reading tut's and researching facts.
Now don't get me wrong, i did all this voluntarely,
but reading posts like this one makes me wanna puke.
Well...that may be a bit harsh...
But...the way I see this. In this community there are about 3 sorts of people.
1. Those that know how to do stuff, who are doing stuff, and who help with actual solutions in configs, texturing, modelling, etc...
2. Those who are just using the stuff, playing with it, having wishes or requests, because they don't have time/will/interest to make it themselves... Nothing wrong there. Not everyone has to be a an addon maker.
3. And then there are annoying people. Those that don't read old posts on same topic. Those that don't read readmes. Those that email me about how they downloaded the mod, but it doesn't work, because there was no mod file, only one rar file which they put in the res/addons and now it doesn't work. Duh!!! Etc, etc...you know what I mean.
And after a while I get frustrated with this.
We're not sorry for the time we put into this mod. We did it for ourselves, cause it was fun, for the users, so they can have fun, and for the community, so that similar stuff can be made on this basis. A lot of people have a lot of knowledge and good ideas, but very few have the willpower to finish a project. Dozens of mods get anounced and only a handful get completed.
But please understand one can get a bit annoyed for instance if he put loads of research into a mod like this, to make the muskets as they were, to give them the role they had in the war, and then one gets "Yeah, muskets are cool, but when will Gatling be released..." Hell it would save so much time, to make a mod, call it "The complete Civil War" and only release a Gatling in there, and everyone is happy...
Anyone noticed how many Tiger tanks have been made by various mods? Though Panzers III and IV did a lot more work for that army...? Someone puts a lot of love into making a detailed Panzer I, and immediately gets asked "Yeah, but when will you make a Tiger?"
I'd never dare to ask FDF guys or I44 guys when they're gonna make this or that addon. They have a concept, I know almost nothng about it, except for what eventually comes out, but I would go asking them when this tank or that machine gun will be out, and how they should do it?
Think of it this way... Before we made the Civil War mod, there was none. There were attempts, but no releases. So, availability to the public had a value of 0. Now it has a value of 1. Meaning, when there was nothing to bitch about noone bitched, when there is something, they do. And that is exactly why I always keep saying. If we, a bunch of total amateurs could get this done, anyone can. You want a henry/winchester rifle? Make it. Want cowboys and indians? Make them. We will gladly share our models, current know-how, configs, etc, like other addon makers kindly let us use their work. But did they make stuff for us? No. That we had to do ourselves. If you want it, make it. That's how the game goes.
I have not yet been informed of any modder getting stocked with beer, women or money. As long as that is so, it's only everyon'es good will that makes this whole wheel turn.
Now that was a long and troubled write. Maybe we're spending to much time working on this stuff and are slowly starting to lose our minds...
I need to go relax with some beer and women immediately! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/blues.gif

Triglav, that was the most eloquent post of it's kind I've ever seen.
Count me among those who haven't made anything for your mod, but have played with it and am amazed by it. You guys have done an amazing amount of work in a relatively short time, and as far as I'm concerned it's been A-class quality. And it doesn't look like that rest you said you'd do after the first release has happened! You're working right along on even more units, some of which are the result of requests.
You guys deserve nothing but credit and praise. I stand by my earlier statement that yours is the best mod, certainly the most unique, the most groundbreaking. Single-shot muskets with BIG puffs of smoke. Taking the bayonet script of the UKF mod and putting it to good use... It's class work, mate, and you deserve that beer! I might have to figure out how to ship you some! Can't ship a woman, though... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

i think that there are no ofp limits when we still have great mods and people who deal with mods. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
I must apologize too. I'm just so crazy about this mod and how revolutionary it is. I guess i'm 2˝ in Triglav's 3 kinds of people.
I'm sorry, you have done a great job!

Hello,
I've found something quite nice : by using a script ("A soldier sitting on a moving tank" by RedHouse, which you can found on ofpec), and slightly modifying it (just suppress a few lines where soldiers play a "sit" animation), you can : put soldiers standing on the ox cart and shooting...sometimes (only sometimes duno why), or even tow a canon with PC horses ! Of course your model of canon got a "caisson" (don't know how to say that in english, cause I'm a frog http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif ), which could be (I think its not too hard with o2, maybe I'll try but I'm a very beginner) replaced behind the canon. Of course the wheels don't turn, but its fun anyway.
I didn't try to tow a wagon, but why not ?
Great job again (the "zouaves" are unbelievable...and so frenchies !)
EDIT : it works with the wagon (wheels not turning but it's cool !)
Good news ProfT.
We'll look into it for later releases if we can implement cannon towing...
I think about 99% is done.
We're really just checking for details now, making sure we did all that was planned for this release, writing the readme noone will read, etc...
so How is it going?? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/unclesam.gif

There could be an already written readme available to download like only fill the emty boxes. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
At least i don't read readmes ,i only only read them when downloading a script. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

a readme is very often more than usefull, especially for hidden features or solutions for problems that might occur.
and of course to use all the scripts that come with it

The English word is "caisson", actually! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
We do use your word for that... And a few other things...

Yepster, and that keeps the modmakers happy as then less people will come into the forums and ask stuff already answered in the readme.
I'd say early next week is a good estimate for the release...

This mod has been out got about 5 weeks now. There have been about 3 missions released. Such a pathetic number. I think its the communities duty to contribute mission as we contribute the mod to do so. I try to make missions, but they suck.
Miles Teg had made a single player mission which was pretty good.
I thnk Dynamite Cow released a missions
and Miniroll released an awesome multiplayer mission (which can be played in single player)
Yes I have played those I found all I need. But I do agree with you that not a lot of peopel make missions.
But here is a suggestin to the mod. When the next patch come out would it be possible to make a Invisible line vehicle, So whare you can put Ai in and then they are in a perfect line and when the Gunner fire it will shoot every bodys gun in the line Vehicle (but not all at once).
That was a good idea, man! I think it could be so that the gunner is the sarge of that group and the rest in the line would be "in cargo." So if you shoot a man in the line, well, he doesn't exsist anymore.
At least it would make cool looking cutscenes.
I realeased a mission but none bothed to download in 30 days so noone else gets to download becuase there where was 1 good reply http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
How can I take screen shots for ofp because I have a very perfect line battle to show every body.

Hello,
I've tried to make soldiers attacking you with a sword and it works !!!! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
The soldiers use the same scripts as the bayonet script (without the fix and remove bayonet scripts), and they attack you the same way ! Moreover I put the modified script in my sword.pbo, and as there is no "fix sword" order, there is nothing to put in the init line of units.
I've used the "katana" sword of the samuraď released a few times ago (which isn't very good but it was a try), and the cw union infantry officer, and this guy shoots at me with his colt and then, when close to me enough, chooses his sword and killed me. That was nice !
As the sword is the same weapon class as a riffle, soldiers with riffles cannot use it (cause they can't have two riffles), and when soldiers "put the riffle on their back", it looks quite strange (is it possible to "hide" the sword when they do that ?).
I think I remember that you've got a sword somewhere in the cw team ? If so, could you send it to me ?
