In the official campaign red hammer, I noticed that the US forces have the G36, I was thinking HOW THE FUCK DID THEY GET THAT! because the G36 was first created in the 90's!
I find it ridicoulos, couldnt they give them the xms or the Steyr?!

I thank god that they put it in. Without it, Dimitri would be even more dead under my command.
Besides, it's my favorite weapon.
the Red Hammer campaign is already quite a bit unrealistic (compared to the original 1985 campaign) so what does a weapon that's not supposed to exist yet matter?
I loved using it, but I agree they shouldn't have used it. They should have done all they could to make it realistic.

I don't bother with that. OFP year 1985 is a little bit more advanced than the real '85 was. Remeber M1A1. It was out in August 1985. And don't look at OFPN units. They're wrong. It's not M1. Look at the gun and back wheels.
Like i said, i don't bother with that.
When I play I just think of it as a U.S. Army prototype weapon to be tested in the battlefield..
G36 and the AUG make a very nice addition to the operation flashpoint arsenal

I just forget all about what year it's "supposed" to be.
Actually, the crumble of USSR, the rogue general and the SCUD situation seems more like a possible 1990 scenario.

A small update ... the 5-ton truck was not used by U.S army before '89, though used in the 1985 campaign. So why complain about the G36?
The 1990 timeframe fits more and more.
