View Full Version : Voice actors and maybe an audio technician wanted

I'm putting together a mission, which I hope will go over well with the community. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

I need 5 voice actors, male or female, with North American accents. Smallest part is a few lines. Biggest part is several dozen lines.

Don't volunteer if you're not serious about this or if it's going to take you 6 months to do. I've put in more than enough overtime getting this mission and a few others ready.

An audio technician might be needed to give these sound files a background radio cackle/static sound.

To apply, please email me a sample sound file, giving your rendition of this line by a pilot that's just downed an enemy plane in a dogfight and still has plenty of adrenaline going through his/her system:

"Good Kill! Good Kill! Pilot's ejected. Good chute spotted."

I prefer the file in OGG format, suitable for playing in OFP. However, you can send it as an MP3 or WAV file, if necessary.

Mail it to me at: theavonlady@<hidden>

TIA! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

To help the voices recruitment if you don't find enough actors, you can use this program (http://www.readplease.com/) (the normal version is freeware, the "plus" version is shareware) .

It should help http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Thanks. I'm familar with these TTS programs as well as the usual TTS websites, where you can create the files on the fly without installing anything. If you'll search the forums, you'll see a few existing threads on TTS.

But I want this to be as real as possible.

C'mon folks! Don't be shy! And it won't hurt! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

No one wants to take on even the itty-bitty little parts? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

I think I've got a mike around somewhere. I've only done it once before though. But I'm willing to give it a try... I've got class now though, so I won't be getting you the sample file until this afternoon.

Not really because to correct job description is not in the list there.

So I tried opening a thread on OFPEC's beta missions forum and faster than you can say "place that turd's IP address on the ban list", the thread was closed by the moderator, telling me to use the recruiting page, with the lacking job role.

I mean it would take them a minute to add "Voice Acting" to the dropdown list.

*chiding tone* You know Avon Lady, all it takes is asking nicely. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif
The guys that locked the thread are just doing their job to the standard you all expect of them.

We've added "Voice Actor" & "Other".

Next time, politely approach one of the Admins about it. We're not ogres and are willing to help out where we can. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
