a pic first:

i think you see what the problem is: you can't see the dust... it appears only when i'm very close to the model like on the pic. when i'm away, i can see the dust.
so it has to be a bug in the first LODs... any ideas?

Far as I know the dust doesnt have anything to do with the model LOD its all to do with the memory.Or unless im not understanding the question correctly.

the question is why i don't see the dust which is between "the virtual photographer" and the tank...

two more pics.
it looks like this:

but it should look like this one:

I may be right but you should change the type of the texture files. I mean: if you use .paa files, try to convert them to .pac, and vica versa. It was a bit ago when I faced this problem and I think this was the solution... (???)

it is with paa on both pics... so this can not be the problem.

maybe a view geometry lod will help or do you already have?

raedor

both (the working and the not working tank) do not have a view geometry lod.

but thanks for your suggestions, oyman and LizardX. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

could try to cut and paste the whole model in o˛ then save it and try again. A long time ago it fixed a problem i had with alpha textures on windows.

Well maybe the memory points are backwards.Try looking at the front of the vehicle while moveing and see what that looks like.

if you havn't fixed it already, i had the same problem and it was caused by too much textures with alfa channel. I've removed some of them and it worked.
