I dont know where to point you to,But you can simply export from milkshape using the "Autodesk 3DS" option an then import the .3ds into O2.

not true, o2 will not open a ,ilkshaped exported .3ds file, you have to take that .3ds and re-save it as a .3ds in annother program like 3ds max or i think truscape.
i dont know what it is about milkshapes exported .3ds but they aint the same

Yeah,Your right,I forget about that,
I usually use Deep Exploration to convert the 3DS models. Unfortunately it's not a free programm but has a 30 day trial. There was another free program that could do the job as well (I forgot the name though), but it sometimes did not convert the texture mapping accurately. Especialy on round objects. Deep Exploration does a good job.

I recently did do the conversion from Milkshape, to 3D Studio Max and into O2. The process seems to have worked fine, except 3DSM uses Z values as height, while both Milkshape and O2 use Y values as the height. The only effect is that the model appears to have been rotated when viewed in 3DSM since the Y and Z values are exchanged.
As I just borrowed 3DSM, I dont know much about it. Is this just how 3DSM works? Can I change how it reads the values? If not, I can live with it, but I've always been tought that Y represents the height so it's a bit of a change for me.

anim8or http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif
I seem to recall that you need to save it with ' dummy KFDATA', or something along those lines.
As I have never tried this I can't give any specific details, it's just a vague memory I have.

Yes, you need to enable it in the options.
