I have a problem, with my buildings that i'm making. in tutorials it says to use fire lods so they will stop bullets. But the fire lod aint working, even though I make the fire lod exactly like the highest res lod.
anyone know how I can fix my little......fiasco?? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
You make it like the largest LOD? You need the Fire geometry to be simple just like your geometry, and the components need to be named and no more than 128 parts

lol
okie I found out that part already. Now I have a new problem though. I think the geo lod or something is interfering wit the firegeo lod.
reason is because the bullets arent hitting the building in the right spots. they are hitting farther out now!! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif

You might try shrinking your firegeo some to try and compensate for it. Ussually I take the same Lod from the model one and shrink it down some so it fits inside it, not much though. Then i test it to see whether I need to convex hull it or not.
I hope that helps.
If you could post up pics it might help, or even send me the p3d and I'll have a look for you http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

There you go! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif
Just copy your main lod and set a new fire geometry lod. After you select all components you must choose the option structure/convexity/Component Convex Hull http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
