I have a problem with pilot view lod. It ain't following up with the rest of the damned gun!!

Its the one that ain't following wit the rest of the gun. I mean the soldier is, you are the soldier, but the view that you are supposed to see from the soldier is instead above the gun and the soldier and it stays right there instead of moving with the gun. Kind of like some that on inv44 60mm mortar that came with there demo.

Check the "MEMORY" to see if "GUNNERVIEW" is ***attached or highlited Red when you select "OTOCHLAVEN".If its not just select "GUNNERVIEW" and hold the "crtl" key and select "OTOCHLAVEN" Right click on "OTOCHLAVEN" and select "REDIFINE" save it an try it out. If that doesnt work let us know.
This is the samething that Bratty came up with.

Ya but its not gunnerview. Gunnerview is for like the optics on a static gun. Thats not what i'm talking about. I dont think that controls my problem, I mean, gunnerview to me is working quite fine.....it follows with the gun and stuff.

The problem lays in the view that isn't in gunnerview but the regular view, you know, when you are looking at the gun and stuff. . . . . . . . god its very hard to explain

You know when you go into the editor, and place the unit on the ground, then preview. Well, you know how you begin with seeing hte gun in front of you with yours hands on it and stuff and when you move to look at this way or that way, you're supposed to follow with the gun, but instead it doesn't and its like 2 ft above it too. Not to mention when ya press enter and go to external view how you're supposed to follow the gun in that view when ya go left to right, ya don't, it stays put. So what causes this?

But I will try what you said below. If it works then i'll come back and say so http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif thanks Shadow!

Not gunnerview. Bassically viewing what the man is supposed to see when he is looking at the gun

Here are some basic lods that work ok for me
with a single soldier position i.e. gunner only:
1. Several normal View Lods with diminishing detail
2. Geometry
3. Memory
4. Fire geometry
5. View- Gunner

5a. Now as NZXShadows mentions above the View-Gunner and/or Memory lod (I do both just to make sure) has a single vertex gunnerview for the 1st person view when the player presses V. gunnerview should be part of both
OtocHlaven and OtocVez selections.

5b. The gunner proxy should be part of the OtocVez selection in View-Gunner.

5c. You dont need a View-Driver lod for a single man machinegun.

5d. If you do, say to have a weapons loader or commander, then the gunner proxy will have to be defined as in 5b. above and the driver proxy added to the model (that would apply in all view lods)

Config section.
if you are using the m2static class then most of the parameters are done and all you will need to change are the parameters that are unique to your new machinegun.

Well, this is the problem right below. . . . . . Also to put say a loader, like a cargo position for say the guy who assists, well, then i'd have say a view - cargo lod and another proxy

Thats the problem. The view for the static guns stays put right above it. See how i pointed the gun up & the flash is pointed up. I should be following hte static gun instead......
