Face cheating exploit

Found a real bad exploit in regard to custom faces. After the faces are downloaded into the tmp folder, these can be easily replaced with a face of your choice. It doesnt take much figuring out to realise that that can be with a bright/fluoro color. I think this needs to be addressed fairly quickly....

Also if a player doesnt have a custom face you can make a folder up and put 'force' a custom face. So even if the server doesnt have custom faces you can still force it on the client.

Have you tried it though? Easy way to fix it is to transfer and load face into physical memory. Preferrably encoded. (I mean this aimed at BIS)

This is known for.... like.... ages...
Just play on servers without custom faces if you do not like it....

Yeah this is a very old problem. The solution is to not use a custom face, instead chose a dark original face that doesnt glow white in the bushes http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I've decided not to worry about cheaters anymore as they're not worth all the hassle. If I notice one being on the server I kick him and that's it. I don't even bother with banning anymore with all them hacked IDs.
Make cheating boring for them and eventually they will move on to new games.

Sometimes ..... just sometimes ..... i see some l337 guy with an rpg launcher shooting about 10 rockets from it in quick succesion destroying a number of armored units.

Man these rpg's hold much ammo...................

Anyway i do consider it same as Shrike does

them - if so, they succeeded 100% in their doing.
