Out of curiosity, what is gameplay going to be like in the XBox version? For instance, what is the viewdistance going to be? Also, how many units can you normally have in one battle?

everything looks to be average settings in OFP..

however in some screenshots I did notice models were not as detailed when far away.

I hear it runs faster on the XBox than it does on PC.

thats because: on the X-box it only focuse on the game and on the PC well the PC needs to focus on the game and on more programs.

What does "it runs faster" mean anyway? I got smooth gameplay on my pc, and if it runs with 100fps or 200fps does not really mean anything to me. But the picture above looks horrible. I use all eye candy mods and higher viewdistance for months/years now, and the pic above looks a lot worse.

Graphics wont matter... once people see the capabilities of this game on a console they will be blown away.

Keep in mind this will be the first videogame in Console histroy to offer as much as it does. Buyers of this game will be blown off their couches.

I would agree that the quality of the graphics in the pic doesn't look to high, but you also have to keep in mind that its still in development, so it probably will look better than that when its released.

Keep in mind that X-box has very limited RAM (64 MB). For that it looks great ingame. The pic above is bad quality. I´ve seen it live and and helo and player models I´ve seen in fact looked great. The changes done to action menu and command menu will be a thing we will benefit off in OFP2.

Well I´m no console fan but the engine tuning that has/had to be done in order to get OFP running on Xbox will influence OFP2 for sure.

Edit:
And the fully operational mission editor that comes with it certainly will do the rest to make this a hot-sell also.

Quote[/b] ]What new features does a fan of the Op. Flashpoint franchise will find in the Xbox version?

Marek S: Most obvious is the new level of visual quality. It surpasses the original PC version significantly, so it is definitely very interesting to replay the game on Xbox, if you know it already from PC. The gameplay and feeling on the Xbox version is pretty similar that on the PC version.

This DOESNT in anyway god damn way make sense with that crappy sh!t screen we saw in the previous post does it?

I hope for BIS's sake that screen was taken on a crap PC rather then a X-Box http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif

As Xbox controller has not as much keys as needed on PC to control OFP command menu and action menu it has been reworked or still is being reworked to make it more easy to control :
a. You squad
b. your actions

Having less keys doesn't necessarily make it any easier to use - If you want all the same options you are going to need a hell of a menu system.

I'm glad I didn't have to put up with those boxy settings.... *shivers*
Heck, when I had an 800Mhz AMD Duron, the graphics looked fine, better than what this Xbox seems capable of.

I wonder how much smoother it will run though, when compared to our usual PCs running OFP:R?

Considering all the extra stuff it has to cope with (compared to other console games) like the massive maps, large number of units, combined arms (tanks, choppers, infantry all at once in the same place on a large scale) then I can understand why it looks like that. Plus if you sacraficed say view distance to make the LOD's more pleasing at distance then you'd have to then sacrifice something else to make up the power to increase the view distance again to something useable. But I agree, it does looke quite ugly, but I guess you don't really notice things as much in the heat of the moment and when its moving in real time in front of you.
