The primary responsibility of the AAVs during an amphibious operation is to spearhead a beach assault. They disembark from ship and come ashore, carrying infantry and supplies to the area to provide a forced entry into the amphibious assault area for the surface assault element. Once the AAVs have landed, they can take on several different tasks: manning check points, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) missions, escorting food convoys or mechanized patrol. The standard AAV comes equipped with a MK-19 grenade launcher and a M2 .50 caliber machine gun. With a 10,000 pound capacity, the AAV can also be used as a bulk refueler or a field expedient ambulance. It is easily the most versatile vehicle in the Marine Corps.

Sounds cool! I wonder what it looks like. Also once and if we get the SDK maybe someone can mod the boat that launches them I saw it once on TV an APC shot right out the back of a boat and started for shore it was pretty cool looking.

The Apache aint exactly an oil painting. Vehicles are built for a purspose not looks. :-)

And Apache is just nice chopper, ok. Look at mi-28. This is really the ugliest chopper in the world. Mi-24 and apache bouth can be good for oil painting. And vehicle look is important. If the chopper is good looking, enemy materialists won't destroy him. U know why. :biggrin:

Using the seal guys, I would like to see these 2 boats added. I thought the bottom boat has a ramp off the back that can bring in a Zodiak full of Seals.
