Hmmmm where is everyone?

Hwere is everyone. Not many people here at the forums. Very few servers on the eye... and they all have one thing in common... EMPTY! http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif and online is considered 30% of the market. This 30% has more power that the 70% though. Most reviewers play online and will be biased towards looking at the MP capabilities. People who reply here and at other sites are playing online. The 70% has no voice and it's a shame that the 29% declares OFP a crappy, unplayable and totally useless game because of BAD MP capabilities. Another thing is that Online games will sell better as most people who play online either want or have to get a retail game rather than warez.

Oh and I have also quite the already old dusty OFP and joined the people who play Ghost Recon online. Too bad, I would rather play OFP online, but that's just not possible.

Games like Rtcw and Action FPS games are all the same, Since Wolfenstien3d there has been no advance in the gameplay genre but graphics and multiplay.

OFP has done somthing amazing.

Every MP game you have to visit someones IP whethter it be the servers or another person, so stop your complaining, and get on with playing the game properly! in VETRAN MODE! or MP as it works fine for me!

actually it IS enhanced net-code. Red Hammer contains version 1.3 with improved net-code. guys like you and me have downloaded the patch when it was released.
but normal people who bought the game and got 1.2 from a magazine-cover-cd, will have a new improven net-code when installing Red Hammer.

flight-simulators are dead and RTCW is boring...Ghost Recon just as well.

What are u talking about. GameSpy is always full of people (etc. 550. 100-300 in the morning), and i can play normally. If you're playing through IP adress, stop! I have absolutley no problems with OFP MP. Didn't crashed once. And i'm playing through net most of my game time. Dunno what are u talking about.

As for RTCW and others. This is like Quake or UT. Shoot, kill, shoot, kill, shoot, kill. Nothing else. Completley unrealistic and boring. Boring like ####.

It's not the bugs in MP that is killing it for me, It's the poor quality netcode.

The game was built with tanks and helicopters but the netcode can't take it at all, Even 3 players who are ALL pinging 50 on a DEDICATED SERVER! can shoot each other 30 times before the 50ms lag catches up and they all die at once.

It's a silly netcode and no matter how little lag i have the game is virtual un enjoyable.

It needs revision, And it needs a SOLID code that is made for the game alone, not using Direct Play or somthing.

The Half-Life netcode runs perfectly with a 250ms ping at my connections worst. 40ms is normal for me.

The Half-Life netcode was built for the style of the game, Operation Flashpoint netcode is still about 1 year away from any solid and good netcode abilities.

If OFP was netplayable as well as Half-life is i would have wrote all this.

The only time i have enjoyed OFP was on LAN with 1 other person doing a Co-Op mission.

There was no lag, When i shot an enemy, he died instantly. In MP games, They take about 10+ seconds to die. And it takes about 2seconds to update a player position, no matter how good the pings/lag is.

In co-op missions, your enemy is AI. That's why they don't have lags.

Anyway. It is annoying with lags, but i can still enjoy. I play with only good pingers (0-200ms) and i don't discover so much lags. I shot soldier and he dies. Maybee it takes one shot more then offline, but this doesn't keep me away from OFp MP.

Poor bastards made it _worse_ than Rogue Spear.  Redstorm the sons’a b*tches! I’m buying Black Thorn just so you know what to keep going and what to throw in the ‘CS clone’ douche bag.

And why wont they make the multiplayer offline playable...its a petty request so its not to hard for the gayass' who wont change it.

Ghost recon doesnt suck, its alot fun to play in multi, there are already more gr clans and ladderfights than ofp had since its release.
Its fun in singleplayer too, coz the missions are well written.
Only thingy im missing is that theres no inhouse fighting, like in RS, but you dont have that in ofp neither.

After playing OFP, I see Quake and UT as an insult to anyones intelligence. It's a completely lame frag-fest with no goals or purpose, other than to drive you nuts and think that sewers are the only places you can move around in.

heads who should have their pcs taken off them and should get a kicking as well.
OFP has pretty bad mp problems that need sorted and a few other things causeafter you play the single and campign through afew times then thats what you go onto next.

quake and UT are both s**t if you dont have cable or dsl cause if you have bad lag you can shoot your gun and run infront of the bullet and kill yourself.
