I wish they would add those real Mapping Tool"l NATO map symbols, as it can be seen in VBS-1 to the junior style handdrawing map markings we have now.

Either way, I would be hooked!

Codemasters has made an article about VBS1... check out: <a href="http://www.codemasters.com/news/displayarticles.php?showarticle=780&PHPSESSID=c177ea2217696c513a64289a4050cf05

Most" target="_blank">http://www.codemasters.com/news....

Most</a> interesting part:
"Although the modified version of Operation Flashpoint will not be available to the public and part of the content will remain strictly confidential, certain developments and units will possibly be made available at some later stage through additions or upgrades to Operation Flashpoint owners around the world."

Krull SGC
Dec 14 2001, 18:13
Surely they have already done that with the addition of the Steyr and the G36, and possibly also the Bradley which I have noticed on the VBS1 site. Though, hey what does it matter where they come from or what they are, if we get new toys to play with, cool.

Damage Inc, that is an Assault Amphibian Vehicle Personnel, or an AAVP7A1 (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/aavp7a1.htm). Check the link you know I'm right, its the Marine Corp version of the Bradley.

That MH-53 and UH1 would be hot.
I would love to see an Hummer with a mounted M60 or SAW on it.
Huey+ M60D(the compact version for choppers etc) would be nice too.

Dec 14 2001, 19:03
Do you hounestly think that they would release that to OPF'ers?
I bet they don't even have legal right from Codemasters to release it, 1.35 or 40 whatever will be the last patch
so don't expect them to release a Harrier or whatever.

Aw, cmon, are you just pulling our strings Erex? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
How about a functional LST (ramp up/down with possibility to carry vehicles), as the model is already in there.
Would the helicopter/ VTOL carriers feature LCAC´s or work together ith the LST to bring troops ashore, or be just eyecandy and unfunctional like the LST?

LCAC (Landing Craft, Air Cushion )

Dec 14 2001, 22:09
problem is that u cant just unload straight away of these things u need to put the ramp down and the crew needs to do stuff to unload the tank/vehicle, would u simulate this is in opflash?

Satchel
Dec 14 2001, 22:13
As a last resort, if simulating a functional hydraulic ramp is to difficult, it could be handled a similar way it´s like with the APC´s and IFV´s for now, there too is no ramp movement, but you can embark and disembark, the same way it should be possible for landing crafts, just implementing them for eyecandy doesn´t make much sense.

You would probably fall through the hull anyway when walking around inside it- becoming fishmeat, so i could  do without it. But without functionality more useless  ships are not appreciated, i would instead prefer further finetuning, bugfixes and other additions/ improvements that really affect gameplay.
