Alright I want to show all those patronising gits out there how patriotic we brits are, right who likes the SA-80, The TVR motor company and The MGRover car company?
Come now you've gotta like something out all these!!!!!

TVR - just about the only British manufacture left. great company - great cars! MG Rover - a contradiction in terms. They both made great cars when individual companies. SA-80? What's that - another ill-conceived MG Rover model? Sorry Cap - best I can do!

Eh captain, i'm with ya..............I would like to see the L85 as well.........not to sure about rovers though http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
You're forgetting Morgan, of course.
However, the SA80 and Rover have a lot in common; the Rover POSi I used to own was almost as unreliable as an SA80, requiring an engine rebuild every 6000 miles or so.

Hands off the SA80 rather than up (L85A1 being the correct designation). The first time I ever fired it at Perbright, I had three stoppages and a broken trigger.
If at least they could get the dust cover to cover dust, rather than flick itself open as soon as you exhale in its general direction. Did I mention the dirt accumulation...

I live in Florida and one of my good friends races(or is going to officially in 2005 when he gets a multi-million dollar contract) GT2 for team Morgan. He went to a racing training camp in Italy for Ferrarri. Just recently (several months ago) his team was racing Audi, and they beat them.
He says the car is great, and I believe him. I don't know much about Morgan street cars, but this racer is sweet!!! I prefer Porsche myself but from what I have seen, Morgan seems like a good car company.
BTW, my friend is only 17 years old!

No bubble burst here mate. I did know that Lotus is owned by an asian company. Still they are true to their origins when making cars Colin Chapman himself would be proud of, allthough Caterham Super 7 is probably the only hard core, hands on sportscar left in the world (in my opinion). Westfield only makes hefty copies. No offence!

TVR...the only cars for people who prefer to go sideways.
SA80...OK...but please god let it be a newer one...I dont think OFP has the ability to model your gun falling to bits when you dive at the ground.
When I was at Bruggen, I spoke to an armourer who said he had two in for routine maintenance, and they both fell apart through handling!
But having said that, I do like the SA80, so heres my hand.
Are they putting one in OFP?

Dec 6 2001, 11:11
The old SLR (L1A1) would be good...
The SLR and the Stirling SMG would both be fantastic! What about the Gimpy too?
Was the SA-80 around in those days (I presume it was)?
Cheers,
Dave.
So which TVRs are we going to get in the game 8-)?
hollywood
Dec 6 2001, 12:30
SA80 was introduced in '86...It was so good I know a few people who tried to keep hold of their old SLRs...It's only now being sorted out. In theory it should be good once fixed.
Yip, I always liked the SLR. I was very surprised when the faults with the SA-80 first came to light years ago - Hekler and Koch usually produce top class armaments.

The HMS Invincible, the Harrier jumpjet etc, etc bring it here. Come on, be patriotic, you know you want to!
P.S: I am not offending anyone am I?
(Edited by Captain Kickass at 7:50 pm on Dec. 6, 2001)
The modifications are being done by HK, but the originbal design was by Enfield and actually dates back to 1947; back then it was called the EM2 and the round was 7.62. it never went into production at the time, but the design resurfaced in the early 70s, when Enfield built the prototypes, Named Individual Weapon (IW) and Light Support Weapon (LSW) in 4.85mm. Never heard of that calibre? Good. It died when common sense kicked in and NATO agreed that 5.56mm should be the standard round. The British Army finally took the weapon as the SA80 and has been leaving bits of it all over the battlefield ever since.

Think they try to call it the Individual Weapon again now, dunno why...SA80 sounds better. Ok,so the rifle does jam, and does melt, and doesnt work when its hot-cold wet-dry or any other climate, but it is designed that if in doubt there is one thing a member of the army can do at close range....twat the f****r with the thing and run http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I have previously fired an L98, single shot version of the SA80 and its good fun, when u dont have live rounds popping out and rolling down the range, makes a nice noise too (BOOM)

L86A2 = win
SA80A2 best bullpup in the world!
*KingBeast shines*
Harriers are nice too, its strange how there are quite a few Yanks that actually think the Harrier is of American design!
Yea the SA 80 is a joy to fire, after just 10 mins I felt really confident with it, I was gettin tight groups at 200m even while firing off whole clips in 10-15 odd secs. Reloadin and strippin was quick n easy, I felt like I was a vet!http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Ok it has reliability probs but they are being sorted.
Ok the L1A1 is prefered by alot of old sweats but in most situations I'd go for the SA80. You guys probably know that when the L1A1 was brought into service in the 50s a lot of squaddies said they prefered the old Enfield. The army is a conservative institution by nature lads. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

They don't have physics in the game for "plastic around the barrel melting" in OFP do they?
On a serious note, stoppages is something that's missing from OFP... OK, i suppose, in real life, you don't get stoppages that often (unless you're using an SA-80), well, assuming you clean your weapon regularly, as you're supposed to.
I wanna see the SA-80, for the sake of seeing it... I've got the Para / SAS addon that someone did (re-textured Russian troops with red berrets, very cool) all I need now is an SA-80 and I'll be in heaven...
Goldeneye

Politics now consist of reporters looking for the next sex scandal and people outlawing crap to make them look more "iron-fisted".
