You can only modify 50 x 50 meter pieces of land. I dont think there is anyway to make them more smooth. Try the terrain errosion button at the top but make sure u save before cuz i dont know what will happen.
You know there are 2 types of raising or lowering the land? either using K or I to raise large amounts or just use U and J for little amounts. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

You can change the square~size of buldozer somewhere can't you? At least I think I read that in here somewhere http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif ...
To use another value than the initial after working on a project is not wise. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif
Objects like roads react to this somehow, or maybe they don't and therefore size themselves to the grid size value... they were all over the place.

Try getting the terrain how you want it before using the 'terrain errosion' tool, save the 'final blur' option till it's all exactly how you want it...
