View Full Version : Dedicated server & Router problem
Hi, I have two machines and a linksys router, broadband connection. I want to setup a dedicated server without using a DMZ, I have all static IP's on my local lan and I have setup forwarding for port 2234 but I cannot see the server on gamespy any ideas?

ok 1 machine has the server and the other has the OFP to play with
and you have a router
Both the server and the Game will have the same IP when viewed off the net so it's not possible, you'll have to assign a Real ISP IP to each NIC card ID because of the FW/Router
Some one else might have a better solution

There are other ports that need to be opened up and forwarded -- see this entry from AvonLady's excellent FAQ:
Once</a> that is done, you should be able to connect to the server using the external IP address of your firewall/router. When the OFP server connects to the GameSpy server (provided you didn't set the ReportingIP (http://www.3dap.com/flashpoint/deddyinfo.htm#15) configuration entry to an empty value), the GameSpy server will see your external IP address automatically.
