I dont even bother trying Multiplayer anymore because of these two issues! Please do something!
1) Get rid of the choppy play!! I have a cable modem and still find it near impossible to find a game that runs smoothly!!! I dont care if you have to get rid of the voice, or limit the number of players a server can have for a specific bandwidth, but do something!! There is nothing worse than spending 30min just trying to find a decent game and not finding it!
2) Help target identification!!!!!!! Everybody is shooting the wrong team! Make the player models completely different! (dont just turn on the target identification from single player because this shows when someone is hidding in the bushes) I end up trying to identify by the weapon, but this is an inconsistent way of identifying the enemy!

2) Welcome to the real world! There is no different "playermodels". If you want that, play some other FPS :-) Communication is the key to survival, if you're in front of your buddies, tell them.

I totally realize that in the 'real world' you have to know where your own troops are. In the 'real world' this is accomplished via radio, command & control centers, transponders?, etc. This is a game, and without working radio communications (not everybody uses voice, thank god or there would be NO bandwidth) friendly fire happens all the time, and it makes multiplayer NO FUN!! (lets face it even with all the fancy technology in the 'real world' we still blow our own stuff up, and that is NO FUN)
The point of a game is to be FUN not 'real world'

Well I'm glad to see someone else isn't happy w/ the COOP crap they are passing out in this latest patch. Between the .29 and .30 they have killed any chance to play. .30 introduced lag like I have never seen. .29 had CTD or disconnects that were never fixed when .30 was released.
Would BIS please stop handing out new toys and fix the toys already in the game..
If COOP isn't a concern to BIS please post here so I can remove my game, as it is now I had to revert back to .27 just to get our guys playing again.
We were able to have 8 guys w/ the .27 patch and now w/.30 we are lucky to get 4 w/ out any problems.
As far as the voice thing goes, it's a must for any coop. You can't sit and type all your comments to your buddy, only other choice is a LAN http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I thought this game was about realism... otherwise I would still be playing counterstrike, which I'm not...

well thats what cadet mode is for. i havent had all the choppy play i have been hearing about i have been in some very large scale games the last few days and as long as all the players have reasonable pings its been rockin. coop is just as good i played the desert ambush earlier today with around 10 or 11 other people and it was awesome til some noobs started shooting too soon. but hey everyone has to learn from something and start somewhere.
I love the realism of this game but I do agree it is very difficult to tell apart one team from the other. My roomates and I play on the lan and half the time end up shooting one another on accident. I can't imagine how worse it is on the internet or how team killers will kill games online. In my opinion there isn't really a need for newer skins. I think Tribes did this one the best with the green and red arrows above the player models. Granted this would blow a snipers cover but perhaps make it so you need to be a certain distance away for it identify the player. Either way there should definately be a better method cause right now I see players killing teammates far too often.

If you're West, and the other guy has an AK74, shoot his ass. It's not that hard to tell who's who by the subtle uniform differences (there are differences), and the weapons.

You people need to realize that concessions HAVE to be made for ease of play. Every single other MP CO-OP game makes this concession, not because every single one of them are idiots, but because they realized that accidental teamkilling sucks, and that you need to be able to easily and instinctively identify their own comrades. Easy is HARD; and to accuse those who want this of being something derogatory is not productive. At least make it a server side variable, and allow those who want to make OFP an exercise in target identification leave it to old models.
No need to flame other people because they want what every other game has!
