I agree. I think most grunts wouldnt just sink to the bottom of the ocean.

yeah but most soldiers have a hole shit load of equipment that can drag them down to them down to the floor.
but it would be even more realistic if you want to cross a river to take of your backpack and use it an floating object where you can put your weapons on and swim to the other side of the river
