in OFP-2 there should be a heavy emphasis on mine and trap warfare.

Claymore mines-A directional explosion. So you can sit directly behind the claymore and not be within the killzone

Generic Anti-personel mines- bouncing betties, fragmentary, etc.

Adjustable vehicle mines-mines that have adjustable weight limits. So a truck can roll over it witout setting it off but a tank or APC is heavy enough. Or you can lower the weight limit to blow up the truck. (This could be really cool- what if each vehicle had a specific weight and the mine-layer had to make good calculations on what vehicles might cross)

Multiple ways to detonate traps, claymores, etc-
Add to the timed or remote options-tripwires and stuff like that.

With the mines should be methods for an infantry man to protect himself.:

A warning- lets say some mines have like a clicking noise when triggered and anyone nearby has a second to hit the dirt to reduce explosion damage to yourselves.

Mine-detectors- a soldier equipped with this can use his headphones to listen to the detector whinning or beeping when close to a mine. THis in itself could be a mini-game that could require special skills, patience, and trust. The mine-detector should be standard equipment for the Engineer.

If you like these ideas please respond or add to them so BIS knows that the community is interested!!!

TRIPWIRES, yes yes. I think those ptoreon (?) dudes were able to put this in vietcong, first game that introduces a feature so many ppl ask all the time, i could imagine myself placing a clay and wire to defend a area from the enemy, im not so keen on ap mines though, it reminds me of horrible stuff we get to see on tv from time to time http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif .

I still remember the online games of Delta Force 2 Attack & Defend.
When defending I place motion detecting Claymore mines just around the corner at entrances of the base where they can't see them directly.
It was very effective.
