How do you know it's crashing? Sometimes OFP:R can take a few seconds (up to about 30 in my experience) from the time that logo shows up to when the program actually launches. Are you sure you're not just getting impatient and ctrl+alt+deleting it?

Search The FAQ (http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/) for "logo display" and see if either of the first two matching FAQ items helps.

thanks for the replies ...
@<hidden>: im absolutely sure ... its not starting after 1 sec., not after 30 sec. and not after 3h http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif ... when i open the taskmanager during the gamestart i see 2 PROCESSES:
flashpointresistance.exe and
tmp76438... (something like this - i think this is the cd validation process)
both appear for for 1-3 sec and disappear again without error message or whatever
and once again: all ofp versions up to 1.75 are running!!! 1.85 and higher have all the same prob after updating
@<hidden> miss avon: already checked your superb FAQs, but no solution for my prob there http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif ... thanks for your support anyway ...
maybe someone else out there, experiencing the same probs???
vibes,
harry

Have you searched The FAQ (http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/) for "tmp"? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

yes i did, last night already ... and your informations didnt work for me ... the cd validation process seems to be working, its more likely a problem in the process themself ...
if nothing works i'll take another HD and install win2k again for ofp ...
thanks again for your FAQ projekt, avon ... it helped me alot already

I assume you've already tried to uninstall and reinstall OFPR?
