Game crashing upon saving?

There are some single player missions I've been playing that cause the game to crash when trying to save. Any ideas what might be the cause of this and if there's a way around it?

Lately I have had problems with Flight 423. Nice mission, but d*amn hard and without saving quite impossible to pass.

What does "crash" mean in this case? Does the game freeze, crash to desktop or does your computer explode?

hmm i have never had this problem, i don't think it would just crash when saving, it is probally the game try re-installing and getting the latest patch

Crash to desktop immediately when I click on save. It is weird, wish I could figure out what is causing it.

see FAQ, its answered there, you dont have enough virtual memory!

Mine occasionally crashes when retrying and saving. Always on retry in 'Convoy' and always on 'Red Dawn' if I try to save. I believe it is a virtual memory problem.
