Im currently trying to make textures using paintshop pro 7, ive had luck saving them as .gifs and getting them onto the model using 128 x 128 but they r blocky and distorted so whats the best format to save it in?? and how can i just get a plain texture without the blocky effect??
p.s can ne1 give me a link to a custom iron site tutorial plz (yes i have searched)
What I do is in PS Pro...make the image big, like at least 1024x1024 or bigger, that way it will have detail when you shrink it down.
I keep my textures in psp format (saves the layers)
And the texture I use I "save copy as .gif"
Then resize it to your needs
Solid colors will look blotchy, and appears you have to blend to get it to look well.
I followed some MS FS skin tutorials ,to add chips, weathering and lines and such and the textures look alot better
Some links in O2 docs here in the forums

I always use TGA format. It's better than GIF because ít supports Alpha channels. BUT: when saving as TGA in PSP7, make sure you save as uncompressed 24 bit. You can do that in the Save menu under 'Options'.
