There's a big difference between just letting us know that the game is actually going to happen, and rushing the development cycle. I'd just like to know if (and if possible, when) the game will be out, if it will be out at all. Is that too much to ask?

I'm glad there is finally something to see, but is it me or does the quality of the models appear to be poorer than the current ones in flashpoint? I noticed the nice new tropical vegetation, but one look at the ch53 and the Wasp class LHD and it seems like a lot of detail is missing. For instance, Scorpio's CH53 looks better, as do the addon ships like the LSD Ashland that was released. Also, I noticed the engine seems to be the same as the current OFP engine on the VBS1 site. For example, guns on only one side of the helos, no machine guns in the tank commander's position, basic HMMVW without armament, it doesn't look like anything is much different than what is in the current game. Lets hope those are old shots!

They look a lot better than the original OFP graphics. Hi-res textures, it looks like.

The Stallion's tail is tilted to the left (when looking from the back) and there's a supporting strut under the rear rotor wing.

BIS' model seems to have some sort of auxiliary motor for the rotor that's larger than anything I've seen in pics.

Yes but screen 5 looks like it was inverted, as the rear rotor wing is on the wrong side.

Pic 5 also shows the main rotor blades stowed.

Now I'm really interested to see what I presume are the Indonesian/Militia forces. Indonesia doesn't have much of an armored force (AMX-13s (http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/amx-13.htm), PT-76s (http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/pt-76.htm), BTR-40s and some Saladin armored cars, if I remember correctly.

Textures? Yes, they look the same

However, we don't yet have a BIS made Harrier, Stallion, Huey or aircraft carrier for that matter.

IL could have the same default textures that OFP and resistance have and I would still buy it if it adds a bunch of new code fixes and features like being able to stand atop moving vehicles.

i'm 100% agree with this. Good Graphics din’t always mean good game (UT2003 for example)
All i mean... this screens is almost 1 year old. Maybe they do change it already.
Unfortunately BIS keep all information secret, which is bad not only for us, but mostly for marketing. After all they have to sell this game anyway.

Let me clarify: I am completely alright with BIS releasing info when they want, but the idea of CM limiting BIS's flow of info to the community really pisses me off. Especially after repeated instances have shown that CM has been completely inept in its handling of the OFP franchise, and really couldn't give two flips about the developer or the community as anything but cash cows. Just the idea of a group of mongrel idiots like CM's marketing department calling the shots for a AAA developer like BIS really gets to me.

Works fine for me. On a side note, head over to the VBS1 site, they've got a ton of screenshots I havent seen before. I like to think of it as a bittersweet experience

It could be that I haven't seen them before because I havent checked the VBS1 site for a while. If that's not the case, maybe you are just looking at the wrong section of the site
