Yes, Codemasters is the publisher for Maddox Games' WWII RTS. That does not mean that BIS has anything to do with it.

We haven't all got access to that magazine. Some might be in countries where it isn't distributed, and there may be more than one magazine sold under that name. Could you scan the article to allow us to read it?
That'd probably be illegal.

Why would it be?
You are reproducing a copyrighted medium digitally and spreading it over the internet with out the makers/owners consent. Like spreading mp3's and the sorts.

Well, lets just say he will be quite safe if he puts the source of the quote. And I hope he doesn't post the entire magazine on here. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Magazines can be quoted anywhere... they were originally meant to get information to as many people as possible.

Ok, its in the MAY Issue of Computer Magazine MAY, the WWII game made with the same engine as Ofp, is located on page 45 of this issue, for magazine picture Cover visit this link http://www.cgonline.com/cgm/200205-m1.html#continued this is for just the picture of the issue, Now in the quote for WWII says this in the picture " This is the WORKING title of a real-time stratagy game from the publishers of Operation Flashpiont. They promise to medel heroism, confidence, despair, and cowardice.
Now in the operation Flashpoint 2 section (page 56-58) talks about the models that are going to be used to improv upon stealth and, mosly focuing on the AI and how they react to real time envirnments. It says in a picture of the modeling of the ai movments caption " A.i work on Operation Flashpoint 2: attack of the shrubs." Which dosnt mean thats it what the game is called, just how they focus on stealth and the bushes. But the have word in there on the progress of operation flashpoint 2, Not a release date nore an expected demo, or year! Even that matter. If you don't belive me, look it up, sum way or form and look at pages 56-58 on Computer Magazine. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/xmas.gif My scanner is non operable at the moment, but this is enought proof, to get you into looking into the future on the new ofp comming.

No, of course those aren't from OFP2. If you read the captions or whatever, they say that those are screens of them actual "programming" the terrain in the original.

What are these arrows and can BIS plz in the future add an option toggle to show them for the SP missions.
One problem I have always had with OF is what is the damage health of the AI I am fighting,..., versus in the real-world I could visually estimate my opponent's health.

Not sure what you're saying. You want a health meter for your opponents? Is it too much or too little to see the blood soaked uninform of the enemy you just shot who can only retreat on his belly? Is this real or unreal in your opinion? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

my guess is that that is forrest object. there is a tree object around it, and from the looks of those pillars i say they are those coniferous(?) trees from forrest model.
I think the arrows are just the coding of the AI, the forest and other things like houses have a different coding, the arrown tell the AI the best way to walk over the terrain.

Bullets going in the leg can wiggle around and come out from the shoulder. Furthermore, I'm sure that if you hit the main artery in the leg, one can easily bleed to death in no time at all.
I'd post sample pics but the moderators would faint and who would maintain law and order then?!
The whole concept of bullet entry and exit points was once discussed at length, possibley on the old OFPN forums.

Pain can lead into a heartattack , not all kind of pain , but people with a bad health at this time , exhausted or just unlucky at this time can be subject to the heartattack.
So i see no problems when in the game i shoot 4-5 time on the feet of an AI guy and then he dies : he just had an (AI) heart attack due to major pain by vicious bullet going through his feet multiple time http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif .

Appropriate reading (http://www.genepool.addr.com/bullet.html).
There really is no alternative...if you shoot someone in the foot 4 or 5 times their foot is gone...(or at least reduced to a stringy shred of flesh...a man missing a foot isnt going to be combat effective...the only alternative to not making the guy die is to have him lay there in the field until someon comes and picks him up for an evac...I certainly dont want to wriggle around in the field forever. Perhaps the alternative is to introduce a bleeding system...whereby a soldier will have X ammount of time before he bleeds to death/enters cardiac arrest from shock unless a medic treats him. Thats about the only solution I can see.

One of my points above was that if you shoot someone and severe their leg's femoral artery, there's a good likelyhood that the person will bleed to death.
Another point of mine was that a high velocity bullet's entry and exit points may be in completely different areas of the body. So someone could be shot in the leg, with the bullet yawwing through their body tissue and come out of the shoulder, back or elsewhere.
