it's just .. overkill . just tried it ... it's .. undescriptable
only 1 agm130 wiped 5 entire t80 platoons on desert island

i think that the power of the weapons shopuld be toned down a little bit

after a quick play ive noticed a couple of things, firstly the outside model is amazing, looks really good, great job! the interior could use some work, maybe adding more dials, making it a little better looking, its the only thing letting it down looks wise, i tried out the laser guided bomb but couldnt get them to target, i used both an oh-58 and a blackop with laser, i couldnt see any of the targets, are you sure you added "laserscanner=1;"(or similar) to the cpp? the nuke seems pretty useless, ive tried lots of things to try to survive when it goes off, either going really high or going really fast to get away (using set velocity) and every time it killed me, and also as ran said, they could use some toning down, the agm was flipping me when i was 200m above it and a few hundred metres away, could you also make the mk-82's auto fire, so that we can release 5-10 bombs in one go instead of forever clicking, people could still release individual bombs by using left click and autofire with ctrl

ok...i have removed the file..cause i just found a huge bug in it..and i dont wanna have ppl have the wrong bad model..so i will fix it ..and updated the link..or file.

no one mirror it please..i dont want ppl to have the bad version..we worked hard on this..and i would hate to have ppl download the bad incomplete version. Do us a favour and dont give to your friends please until we update it soon.

all the sutff you metnioned...the bombs..some lod's issues..and the cockpit is not fully textured..

yeah ive just seen the lods....im guessing you forgot to binarize it...you definately need a couple of new models in there, going from 4000 to 200 with such a large gap between lods will hamper its use with more than one or two

edit: im writing out the a10 lod resolution/vertice counts for you, will take a couple of minutes

obviously it will be different for the f-15 now, as peoples computer specs are now better, but this is still roughly what you should be sticking to to allow everyone to play with a decent frame rate

I agree with just about everything Mr. E says above, though to be honest, I never got as far as trying weapons release. In common with most of the aircraft released for OFP, a hellish amount of altitude is lost in turning.

As far as dropping ordinance goes, how does it sound to have differing quantities available for release in the menu? As an ex- Jane&#39;s F-15 player, I would suggest sticks of one, two and four available?

OK download delay, deadsoldier released the f15 tommorow its better because we found a few things that must be correct, cockpit textures and so on&#33;

I did. If Janes is anything like realistic, autofiring bombs isn&#39;t. Pre-programmed sticks are.

Did you read it? Evis&#39;s post was made before the admission that the addon was flawed. I merely added that I agreed with his summation, plus pointed out that the Flight model may need looking at, and a suggestion about how the addon could get rid of its ordinance.

Hi guys,

Well a lot of things happened behind the scenes last night. I stayed up until 8:30 am making sure things are ok. But they we&#39;rent just bug that need to be fixed.

The model i uploaded to my stupidity was an old one.
And trying to find the newer one was very hard as im not a scripter... ..marine woke up today..and he went nuts when he found out i released the old version.

I gave SelectThis the file through GunShip cause i dont have him on icq... so he can binarize it..cause marine wasn;t available.  SelectThis then binarized the file, but then we found the newest one.  So yes it was a huge mess... i feel bad that i wasted SelectThis&#39;s time..but ihave thanks to him for giving me some of this time. So i told them to delete the files they have. so ppl wont get the wrong one ..or "unfinal" one.

Well since i dont have SelectThis contact..id like to apologise to you for giving me your time on an old file that cant be released. You have been well mentioned in the readme file. Thnx.

Yess the mess is under control now...marine sent me the newst file..and he already fixed all the bugs you guys mentioned..or most of them.

The files that some of you have downloaded..is copyrighted.. So dont give to your friend or distribute in anyone. its a headache for addon makers to spend months on an addon,..and then somene spreads the bad version of it. I have easily spent over 150 hours on it alone. so i would appreciate everyone not to give to anyone so we can still make addons inthe future. After last night..i decided to stop addon making cause of the mess...but today..marine came and solved the problem.

So dont give to your friend or distribute in anyone. its a headache for addon makers to spend months on an addon,..and then somene spreads the bad version of it. I have easily spent over 150 hours on it alone. so i would appreciate everyone not to give to anyone so we can still make addons inthe future. the thing that made me decide to stop making addosn, is that the MOD&#39;ing community has got to a point where they are continusly competing against each other. And a lot of people steal others hard work, like what happend with that artiliary tank a few days ago. and there is nothing u can do about it. And for me, its a big unessecery headache. Its just a very ugly side of addon making. which i dont wanna go through again. From now on, if i make an addon, it will be for my personal use, so ppl wont bitch about things liek it lags more than the mig-29 when my plane is 4000 faces while the mig-29 is 9500 faces... so this was my first OFP addon, and would be my last. The island im making "555" , im gonna stop working on it..cause ive been working on it for more than 8 months..and i dont wanna get a huge disapointment when i release it. I&#39;m looking for ppl who might be interested in taking over the 555 island and finish it.

dont you have to buy copyrights? or go through the courts or something? i dont think you can just say &#39;this is copyrighted&#39;, you can probably still stop people from using your model/textures without your permission but no need to say its a copyright...either way, its a shame to hear youre stopping, its a good model/textures even in the &#39;old&#39; state, there are some programs that can stop stealing, like binarize, or hiding some kind of identification onto the model then binarizing it, then get someone to verify it with a program that can view ODOL&#39;s, it doesnt do much in itself but having convincing evidence and showing a few ofp news websites can do a lot, anyway, i hope you reconsider stopping addon making as munger said, you and marine are very talented

also if anyone was going to host the old version, they probably would have done it by now

Well if you want to get out of the addon making scene then that&#39;s your choice, but in truth, addon stealing happens very seldom and those that do it are usually shunned by the OFP community and don&#39;t get much respect...nor do their addons get used in many missions...they certainly don&#39;t get used in mine. I wanted to use the lastest M109 in one of my missions, but I&#39;m not because of the whole theft business. I will wait for the DKM version to come out.
Also... keep this mind. It&#39;ll be a real shame if you put a ton of hard work into making addons for yourself...but then have no one else but a few close friends to see how gifted you are and to enjoy your creations with.
What you should do is simply keep quiet about any addons you are making like Kegetys does. Then ONLY release an addon once you are 100% sure that it&#39;s as bug-free as you can make it. Don&#39;t be in any major rush. If you don&#39;t announce a addon release, then nobody will be rushing you to get it released. It&#39;ll be a very pleasant surprise.
But if you still want make addons and just not share them because you don&#39;t like a little criticism then that&#39;s your choice. But the fact of the matter is that it seems like you&#39;re very gifted at doing addons so if the addon works fairly well, I think you will hear WAY more praise then gripes.

Well i loved the F-14..and me and NAA Us MArine would make those huge missions that lasted 3 hours each..and we would fly the F-14 together in one..and give air and groupd support to other allied tanks and troops fightign on ground. Its a huge misison..took us forever to make it.

So the one whos turn is to sit inthe back seat..it would be boring..cause the back seat inthe F-14 didn;t look exactly like the real one..like canoipy support beams where too far back..and they didn;t give the flare of the back seat. So i said..hey lets make our own plane to fly these misisons..but it will have better weoppons and easier to fly. So here we went and built the F-15. and decided to share since we like it when other share ther emodels with us. And i posted screen shots cause when i see an addon i like..im always checking the post to see new screenshots..so i thought of doing the same.

I dont care about people know how gifted i am. Im a designer..im studying auto design in college now almost done.. i never show off my work too ppl...cause i like to appreciate it the way i want. Its no ones to criticise. I take pride in my work..by my self. I dont need others to make me do my art or designs.

Im not looking for fame in the OFP community...i mean i will never meet any of you guys in my whole life. I just need some friends in my hobby. Cause all of us here appreiciate this hobby on the same level.

For example on that F14... would it not be possible to fix the F14 up so it looks like how you want it?
That MOD group that makes the F14 also needs to seriously work on the nose of their C17. Their C17 is pretty damn good except for the exterior nose section which just looks horrible.
There are lots of little (or not so little) things like that which many MOD teams could use some help on.
Anyways I hope that you&#39;ll continue to participate in the MODing community in some capacity. Best of luck on your studies also&#33; Sounds like a very interesting career field.

Yea your right..it was the first time i release an addon..so i never expected that things would be such a hassle..but he we gotta deal with them. I will be making some more models in my free time though. Col. Klink showed me his realy nice Sea Kings and that kinda made me wanna make more planes.

for those of u who had the chance to see the ugly model..this is what we fixed.

1- Fixed sound..make it lower form out side.
2- Fixed sound inside..make it zero..remove it.
3- decreased AGM-130 power to detroy only 2 or 3 tanks.
4- Decreasd power of GBU-12 to destroy 1 tank..or 2 if they were very close.
5- Made the nuke fall slower..so ppl can have time to escape.
6- Reduce aircraft armor. by half.or 40%.
7. texture some surfaces in cockpit..

did we forget anything else?

yeah, i had a new model but wanted to make new textures. I&#39;m sure deadsoldier is much more talented in doing planes and should go on with his own project of the MiG-29. I made the old MiG-29 out of a significant lack of knowledge and research, so I have to admit, it wasnt that enough.

But hey, I agree with all of you, OFP needs a russian aircraft to balance things out on the East. Is it very hard to change the "Side" of a vehicle? I just hope deadsoldier decides to do the Mig or some other comparable Soviet aircraft after this one. Personally I think the Soviet aircraft are every bit as cool as the U.S. ones, but for some reason not too many ppl have concentrated on them.


Still, your current Mig looks great. Was it just a high poly count that caused lag? I&#39;ve never done the modeling bit, but I used to do missions for Counter-strike and some other Half-life mods, so I know all about rspeeds, i.e. poly counts in regard to 3-D objects.

I did some dogfighting with the Mig and the F-14&#39;s and I put up 5 Migs and didn&#39;t seem to have any lag issues with it, but then again my PC is a 2.8 gz with a GF-4 Ti4600.

Heh, I know how to do that, but I&#39;m talking about making it that way in the model, i.e. what determines the model&#39;s default side.  If you create a vehicle using the createvehicle command, then it will create one using the default side of that vehicle.

I think only F-15C&#39;s-the AA variant-are painted in the light grey camo.

we DID add the US Air Force insignia. we didn;t go through making this whole plane to forget that. u just cant see it cause from all images there was never a good shot to show you the insignia. Plus its drk grey as it is supposed to be on the F15E . Im not gonna make it bright blue and red just so u can see it better. Lets keep it realistic.

the only F15E paint scheme is the dark grey. thats it. I havn;t found any other paint scheme other than that. except in one pick where it was in green camo..but im not sure what its story.

The ones your talking about are the F-15C.

The Story: That one actually was a prototype. A update F-15B/D that had the bulges (fueltanks originally, In the E model filled with avionics/fuel) added and the backseat modified as per the E model. It had just two pylons on the bulges (The hasegawa 1/48 kit gets that wrong as it allows both versions to be built with all the pylons on the bulge) It was called the Technology demonstrator i believe. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I found it harder to hit things with missles than before (using F14&#39;s vs. SU-25&#39;s).

The swirly effect is cool, though. Missles were UBER accurate before I applied your config changes.

I&#39;m still excited about this new jet. I can hardly contain myself. Maybe you and vit should get together and help him release all his models. He has an F-15, a real (I mean really looks like a harrier) Harrier, A mig 29 fulcrum, An F-22 Raptor, and an SR-71 spyplane all modeled into the game but not complete. How they&#39;re not complete, I have no idea. We&#39;re talking tons of potential fun here on the edge of being released. 5 FREAKING JETS&#33; If you two got together all those models could be released real soon. As he finds models on the net and says he made them , and then accuses me of stealing my F-15. I showed him images of the program i used and the F-15 through out my work on it. Still he accuses me of finding the F-15 model. I found his models here :

I will not help him, nor will i download any of his addons to help stop addon stealing.

I know vit, and I agree that is his personality. I mean, I seen him act like that myself. Anyways I&#39;ll still download his stuff. He&#39;s showing himself to be dedicated to making aircraft and that attracts me to his page since I really like aircraft and noone else is dedicating their addon skills specifically to aircraft in a bigger way than him, webpage and all. He needs competition. Give him a run for his money fella.

Guys We are making a MIG-29 Next and we are making it because its a great plane and deserves to be made correctly in every aspect. so Black Dog no we arent making the mi-1 dont say that we are because if we do we will be the ones to tell the Everyone not you.

We think this mig-29 is going to be a great project and we are expecting this one to go alot smoother then the F-15E.

That sums it up scorpio. We will dwell on that jet no longer. Now, this will be a big thing. I predict alot more dogfighting going on now. I&#39;m talking alot. And now that you have successfully steered the path of making a jet front to back, could you make a jet tutorial that could compete with Col. Klinks. If so, name it ofp jet for dummies. Let&#39;s face it, Col. Klinks jet addon tutorial shed some light, but it didn&#39;t take us through the entire process. Perhaps you guys could make it plain.

Awesome plane d00d, real nice j0b.

It makes OPF feel like an actual flight sim (well almost), but i just love the way this plane handles.

But on the sound issue, i know the plane engine can be too loud, and in the current F14 and MiG it has proven so... But its kind of weird flying and not hearing at least a little hum from the engine.

So my question is if its possible to have two different sounds for say when ur in the cockpit and when ur in third person or outside the plane? So that when ur in the cockpit u would hear just a VERY low humm from the engine noise, and outside would stay the way it is?

Once again, very good job on the plane d00d, and i hope to hear from ya about the sound thing. But if it cant be done, keep it the way it is, the engine noise would droun out everything. But if it can, id like to know.

i just want to say. i helped to test this addon when it was in pre-release form. .and it was good. .and then got better. .and now best. .and its still not done?. . look the point im getting at here is. .these two men busted their ass using every free moment possible to make this plane as good as it is now and better yet. . and some of you ungrateful sons a b****s can do is moan and complain. .. be thankful these two men put their time and energy into making such a good aircraft&#33; thats all i have to say. .thank you for your time

well but here comes some constructive critism:

how about making a "real" pilot with one of those breathing- masks for your plane(s)?
you could use kinda animation like seb and ebud used for their chopper-pilot-visors for that mask like a "attach mask" actionmenu- entry, where the mask moves towards the pilots face. .. that´d be stylish, wouldn´t it?

i experienced, that those GBU bombs miss their target about 50m. anyone experienced the same?
aint there any way of making the AI use the bombs in a flight-maneuver like the a10lgb does, without dive-bombing?

shadowy, just the fact you hate my guts and you downloaded my addon and enjoying it a lot to point where uhave to go through repleace the sound and all so you can enjoy it even more makes me very happy. Your a low life, if you have any self respect, you wont use an addon made by someone you hate.

enjoy the F-15, until the mig-29 arrives, it will be 10 times better.
