yes I made it matthijs.....I love the criticism....could be from the late post of someone finding a site with aliens models ... well i checked it out too but a 50000 poly model will seldom go into ofp lol. yes I have that model as well and I have used it for references but I also own the replica model itself with blueprints and stuff also have screengrabs of its evolution thru oxy but I dont think that I should be making excuses to you anyhow the reason of the post is news update on upcoming model so maybe a little more constructive criticism perhaps

Yeah i like M41 and dropship will be cool but here is question where will get their enemies as far as i know we don´t have any referces to them.but i would like to see more sci-fi things in Flashpoint like Morita rifle and the fortress from planet P(both from starship troopers) and i fully agree with this guys who wan´t some of this equipment too.BTW i download Starship troopers mod for Duke Nukem 3d worty download.

One more thing any release date set i cant wait to fly the dropship into a russian shit hole with a bunch of marines loaded in the back hmm or is it posible to have the APC modeld inside the dropship so when ure siting in the back u have the feeling of the APC i recal the counter on the Pulse riffle over 90 not sure

the dropship has its own internal cargo space for seating marines as well but I can always model the apc&#39;s inside into the view-cargo LOD. also plan on making static model so you can walk up the ramp inside

Go baby go.. I am so disapointed that there aren&#39;t many unrealistic addons out there, why confine ourselfs.. OFP is so free and open that is one of the best things about it.

between hoverboards, jump ships and maybe even the offchance of a mech/AC coming out ^_^ I think unrealistic is fun.

well the dropship should keep me busy for a little while longer plus I ain&#39;t into fiddlin&#39; with characters and their animations so dunno about the marines but this ship is shippin&#39; soon and we&#39;ll see where Frugo_PL gets with the APC....(hmmm that looks much easier to make) Also got two cropdusters on the way see the ADDONS forum for some screenshots....so patience fellows....

I must admit that the APC is far easier than the dropship... Well, for me it is harder because I do not have any *.paa&copy; pics of it, so I have to do it in "by the eye" style... I will relese the APC pretty soon, don&#39;t expect months of waiting.

BTW, isnt it funny how in many sci-fi movies, soldiers are always marines, even though there is no water around? Marines are supposed to be a water based battalion (hence, MARINEs, marine coming from marina), not an urban fighting force&#33;

I have only one problem with this model&#33;

The problem is, it has a two person walk-in cockpit, carries an APC which is longer than a Tank Chassis and as wide.

This model should be a lot bigger than it is. I&#39;d suggest you get ALIENS out on video/dvd and check the ALIEN web sites to get your scale right.

By the way the pilot sits to the right rear of the cockpit and the co-pilot walks down the left to his/her seat.

I&#39;ll see if I can get the measurments for you along with some photo&#39;s.

Performance: Power to weight ratio (loaded) 1:3.3; (maximum loaded) 1:1.7. Range is variable dependant on mission profile, load and ambient atmospheric conditions, but the UD4L is capable of dropping a load from low orbit, landing vertically, and lifting to orbit again from a vertical launch.

1 x 25 mm gatling gun with 900 rounds
32 x 150 mm unguided rockets
12 x 70 mm unguided rockets

The UD4L Dropship is a versatile dropship and tactical transport. It was derived from an original Department of Defense requirement formulated at the end of the Tienstin conflict. It acts as a gunship by using its own internal gun and deploying weapon pods and hardpoints for rockets and missiles. The principle airframe is constructed from superplastic-formed diffusion-bonded metal matrix composites (MMC) and its 103.6 cubic meter internal payload bay can easily fit a M577 A.P.C. (turret stowed). The engines can produce exceptionally high thrust for low specific fuel consumption. The UD4L Dropship is also called a "Cheyenne." It has AN/ALQ-2004E defensive systems to keep it well protected. It has two types of power plants to allow vertical take-off capability (VTOL) hover to the hypersonic trans-atmospheric.

A Gunship version has been noted around the web with only the follow details;
Gunship carries more armour and ammo than Dropship and also has better thrusters, so can out maneuver Dropship.
1x Gunship is equal to 3x Dropships.

ah yeah the ramp, well haven&#39;t got the time lately for the computer and I don&#39;t have resistance either (YET) but 1.46 does not support those luxiourios things. Later version will have moving L/G and ramp, probably folding rocket and missile pods as well.

Must warn you that when you are "in-flight" (you are the pilot of the vehicle and the engine is running) you can not activate animations so you will not be able to open missle pods unless you are on the ground.

I recall a vehicle, released a couple of weeks ago, just when movable parts on vehicles were discovered. That could actually move it&#39;s parts while driving around in it. Sorry, can&#39;t remember the name of it.

Why not have the rockets as the flaps up/ flaps down animation?


That way aswell, when the ship is low, and coming into land, it will get out the rockets.

(like in the film)
