Here is my imperial Lambda shuttle, completly with already 6 LODs made. LOD1 and textures are based on a Jedi Outcast model. Physics are from the cobra. Model is build on a UH-60. I did it just for fun to test what you can do with the LOD and geometry/mass system http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Don't expect things like that to be released (Lucas Arts would kill me, and if not them, I'm sure Suma, Maruk and Erex would do the job for them.. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif )

Rhino APCs, Predator tanks... Land Speeders and hover cannons!
BTW, try making that shuttle huge, like 50 meters long. It's quite big in SW and I'd love to see how something enormous looks in OFP.

Thats great, that is my favorite starwars ship! now all we need is a few blasters and some starwars characters. It would be really cool if you could make the wings retract in and out, maybee like a flaps command when BI gives us the sample models.

If it is like you guys say (I'm not that comfortable with those different behavior classes yet), it would be indeed more realistic to use a motorcycle behaviour.

Well, for my LAMBDA shuttle I didn't add the CfgPatches and CfgNonAIVehicles sections - i simply left them out. But I gave the vehicle itself (in your case "Ball") more properties. All the real Blackhwack had. Then it worked out perfect!

Tau, one question: did you add a LOD called "geometry"? This has to be a simple LOD of your model where the vertices get weight properties. Because Flashpoint calculates the speed and so on via the weight of the object!

Ok, finally I made it to import this into oxygene and texture it as well. This is my first "test" object in oxygene. I started with that since it is probably more easy than a helicopter for instance. It does not have that much moving parts, and not that much textures. Now I just have to create some LOD's and a config.cpp.

PSC: i would love to have a SW mod and even be a part of it... im sure if you tell lucas arts what your planning to do they may give you copyright for the mod... )
And i have thought about how to use it...
You may of thought of it also but you need to add two wheels to the bottom of the model and create alpha channel skins for them... Thus the model will look like its hovering. Looks pretty damn good. As for the mod itself, you should have no legal ramifications provided you never make anything resembling a profit from it.
I think that the intellectual property laws would protect your work in the mod and not violate the image copyright that lucasarts hold.
I'd be glad to test it as long as you don't want me to theorise what happens when I hit bugs.
well, LucasArts/LucasFilm can be a real tit sometimes, I remember they shut a site down that made Star Wars maps for Unreal Tournament. Well i talked to a guy couple of days ago (he's gonna be translating our mod into norwegian) and he was going to make a mod for HL about starwars, he contacted Lucas Arts and they pretty much told him to ged fuked, and threatened to sue him http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
guys think about it.... are we in a mod? no, are we making a game? no... we're making models on our own accord whether they like it or not... they have nothing to stop us with.. Until we are a part of something then they can't sue us.

Anyway i converted Vipersheart's HKbonus pack G11 into a pistol with sight maybe silencer but i now going to edit a man so he can hold it
thats going to be a harder task you realise... im sure it would be easier for bis to do it as they know what to do and im sure it will have to change some certain game files in order to make such animation... even though i have posted the same question over and over again on the offtopic about when bis are going to make some new animations i dont think its going to be very easy... but thats from my point of view... you should write to one of the team and ask them if it would be easy and would you have to change other game files because they haven't made such a lod either so your going to have to start from scratch! http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
