View Full Version : Anyone?
Why is it every model i open from the demo they always have a list of numbers in the top right hand corner of the program display? when ever i double click on the they either make the model look like a heap of **** or the proper thing....
Can't you make one based model and wala? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
If you are talking of the things I marked on the picture, you are talking of the LOD's (Level Of Details). They are used for several things. First of all to show the model in different detail levels (the numbers are the distances when the models switches in the game, in meters I think), and for some other importand information like collision detection(geometry LOD), mass (geometry LOD), several values like where you can embark/disembark (memory LOD), what you see when you are in the vehicle (view LOD's), and so on...
These lods are necessary for a model to work. If you create somethink you will see that you will need them as well.
Hope this helpes, PSC

By the way: Rob, when your models are lacking this important parts (the LODs) it's no wonder that your OFP crashs http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
thats bull if they're lacking the lods because its the m60 model from the demo and the only thing i did was to pull the tripod down in every lod. This shouldn't effect the game in any way. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
thanks, its all coming clear to me! http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
