Hey Illuminati http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Been toying with building a house... 3 stories with roof access. Works like a charm apart for one small thingie http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif You can walk through walls.

Now i've put up a Geometry lod, and used the "find components" function. But i note a difference between the existing houses and my house in the components section. The problem is, i dunno how to get the components to stop anyone from going through them (i assume thats why they are there)

any help (GFX.. u awake http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif would be appreciated,

Ok.. just after submitting my last post i got an idea. And it turns out i had forgotten to set the Mass of my components to something higher than 0 http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif so i had a very lightweight house http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Now that works... though it still wont stop any bullets being fired or grenades being thrown. anyoen got suggestions on this?

Isn't it fun when you solve it just after you post the question. It turns out that the View Geometry also needed Components set. And these define where the geometry is solid and where not.

So to make houses we need the following LOD's:

Geometry
Components with weight (Mass) set high.
also 3 properties set, class = House, dammage = building, mass=building

View Geometry
Components defining what areas are walls / floor and what are not.

Roadway
Simple polygons defining what areas are walkable. Especially for multistory buildings.

Paths
This defines how the AI moves inside the building. See GFX's post about his Pillbox for a good explanation about this.

Hubba, if you need any help with this feel free to download the bunker pack I posted about in the addons section and look at it in O2. Also the one in the pack I am releasing today contains the paths LOD which could be helpful http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
