View Full Version : Setting firing point on the weapon
How do I set the muzzle point in Oxygen? I have downloaded a weapon and opened it in Oxygen to see how it is set and I saw this fire looking objects at the end of the muzzle, can someone tell me how to create those, how to use them or how to assign those objects to my weapon model?

The big fire looking thing at the end is the muzzle flash. All you do is make those polys, select them and group them as "zasleh". And at the end of the barrel, make a point/vertex/vertice....whichever.....and name it "usti hlavne" and at hte beginning of the barrel make a point/vertex/vertice and name it "konec hlavne". Hmm this is what I do: I downloaded a gun, opened it in Oxygen, deleted their model, I saw they already have "zasleh" object, then I make the two vertexes, name them usti hlavne and konec hlavne, then I merge my model and put it beside the 'stuff'. Then I make it into .pbo, put it in Addon folder, run OFP, open it and I get a soldier holding an invisible gun that fires to the right >:| bleh How do make a weapon work? :/
Have you experimented with weapons, if so could you guide me thru the steps of making a fully working weapon considering that you start with a simple model imported from 3d max?

Those points have to be put in the "memory" LOD. Not in the actual model LODs. If you do not have a "memory" lod, then make one and put those points in there.
