View Full Version : I'm converting atv from insane to ofp...

Hello, everyone!

I've started to convert the ATV from Insane for OFP.
(by the way: Thanks to Cyanide for the file, everything worked well http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif)
All started well, I extracted the file, loaded it into Z-Modeller (some kind of 3d prog, mostly used for racing games) in order to export it to a 3ds file...
The body from the ATV is split up in parts, you have one modell for the body, the tires and for the steering thing.
So I loaded everything in ZModeller and placed everything at its place. I applied a texture to the whole thing, so far so good. But when I export it to 3ds and want to load it in O2, the following message comes from O2:
Missing KFDATA section.
I don't have any clue, what this can mean...
Can anyone help?

er, im guessing those models have a copyright....so wouldnt what youre doing be illegal?

As long I am not making any profit of it, it should be ok, or am I wrong?

Probably not, since Insane is a game published by a corporation, they are likely to have corporation like rules.
Most likely if you read the copyright it will say something along the likes of &#39;thou shall not touch anything in this game unless we let you&#39;, so if you go ahead and make it and they find out, yes, you will probably be in big trouble.

Well, since I couldn&#39;t get this error fixed, I started preparing another car for O2...
Once again from Insane, but this time it&#39;s a inofficial addon, and I&#39;m allowed to convert it for OFP..

It&#39;s a Ford F350 flatbed:

1nsane is a great game i played it allot (not as much as ofp,res any more but when 1nsane came out i played it all the time
i even named myself to it (a litle bit) ,1nsane>1nsano.

I can&#39;t believe people still panic about copyrights for models and such...take a look around, half the addons for every game out there are imported from other games.

By the way:
I have solved the problem and have both vehicles now in Oxygen, so I&#39;m moving forward http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif The Flatbed truck will come in 2, maybe 3 versions:

Civil Version with 4 seats (2 in the cockpit, 2 sitting on the ramp)
Medic Version for Resistance (2 in the Cockpit, and 4 guys lying on the ramp)
And a Combat Version with a mounted M2 machine gun or something like that http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
