Ok I have a problem and cant work out how to fix it..

I have made a building and have succesfully made it so I cannot walk through it (Geometry) BUT

The problem is I can shoot through it....even throw grenades through it.

I copied the main LOD to the Fire Geometry, did the Find componants thingy and its still wont work..(and saved it&#33http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I tried the convexity thing and well the building changed shape...so scrubbed that idea.

I have searched and can't seem to find the answer.

Anyone any ideas??

Fire Geo is what you want, you gotta rebuild the model so that the convex thingie doesnt destory the shape, ie, break it up into seperate blocks.

Thanks, it seems I have a lot more work to do then.

What exaclty does that convex thingy do.

I ask so I know just how much I need to break up this building.

The building is a Airfield Control/Watch Tower with associated buildings beneath it, so its quite important.

The convex function converts and checks that all objects have convex surfaces, ie either flat or bulging outwards from the core of the object. It will add faces to close off any concave sides and intersections.

Take a simple example of a L shaped object made up of joined faces, the function will close off the concave angle making it into a triangle. What you need to do is make the L shape into seperate blocks, one for the lower part of the L and one for the upper part.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, this has helped greatly..

Oh yes you mentioned the L shape, well the ground plan of this Control tower was U shaped so you can see why I had a problem..

I have broken the building down in several box like shapes and its works great now.

It seems buildings are not as easy as I forst thought, and I am going through all my others now..

As said thank you for the help...
