I fancied myself quite the 3D expert, until I tried to get my Diemaco c7a1 into ofp... Now I feel really stupid http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I pasted my LOD's in exactly the same position and with the same size as the original M16.
After checking LOD's and LOD group names, I saved as P3D, PBO'ed my work, and fired up OFP.

Major bummer...
- no model visible
- smoke puffs from hands when firing
- fires not forward (don't know wehereto). only lying down and looking straight down does causes ground hit
- "scope" view gives only green DirectX background (like a "no ground" area)

Checked my .CPP, and all looked fine.
Then I tried to replace my P3D by an other P3D. This one worked. Of course there was no skin, because I didn't include it, but the model worked.

Did anyone else encounter this problem?

Im working on a vehicle now so I cannot help you directly...but

To work on my vehicle I d/l a MLOD model that had been created by one of the O2 people

In that I worked through the LODs and saw exactly what I had to do.

I recommend you look at the M16 MLOD demo and see what LODs you are missing - I think you need a memory LOD for instance.

Look at Zwadars site for details of the memory LOD but thats why your gun is shooting through the exhaut port.

I had a memory LOD, pilot LOD and 5 resulotion LOD's. As said, I checked to see if I had all LOD's and required groups.

The problem was solved however:

I opened up a working model, deleted it's contents (all LOD's) and pasted my models into it. This fixed it. Now on to the optics.

The Diemaco C7A1 model will be available within a week or so.
