Hi dudes,
playing all BIS OFP, Arma, Games and series and love them.
Is it worth to buy Iron Front if im focused on MP playing on huge servers? PVP or Coop? Are there some?

Hi Krazi. There aren't many MP servers like there are in ArmA. Right now there are only 3 servers with 25+ people. But there are still quite a few servers.
I would still recommend buying it because the quality of units is amazing.

Are there any servers (with players) running PvP missions with veteran settings?
Are there any servers (with players) running PvP missions with veteran settings?
My server is up and public (Arma2Jedra) - if you want to set a mission going in Veteran mode then feel free. It is running the beta (1.01a/1.61).
Hello all
The amount of servers up and the amount of players is a bit tricky at the moment due to patching issues. One the next patch is out (soon) and players and dedi servers are all on the same version number we can expect the normal spread of mission types and available player slot numbers.
Is the game worth getting? Yes, for me.
Its fairly cheap so if you have the spare pennies, I'd go for it.

Played it first time yesterday. More than 4 hours. No bug, no crash to desktop, lots of servers/cogamers: wonderful, great!
Only thing I miss cti's, like crCTI, Mountain Warfare/Crimson Lane.
When PvP is up and running, i'll buy the game.

At the moment, since patch 1.02 arrived, the are more large PvP servers.

hullo there,
Look for servers hosting Odens mission packs as he has created DUST II and its been on one or two servers all day yesterday.

For a new game the player count is pretty pathetic. Maybe 130 players across several servers at the most.
Is there net site with a server list? Could not find IFL in gametracker.
There was few servers in http://arma2.swec.se/server/list with the search parameter "iron front" but only 8 servers are found, all usually empty.

Those are not Iront Front servers.
As of 2:40 PM PST there are 84 servers but a good chunk of those are "listen" servers running of someones PC.
There is about 4 servers with 10-60 players online. Mainly C & H servers.
The top servers names is "Forgotten hope" and "Iron Front DK" and "Zeus #1 Iron Front:"
Across all servers, it looks about 150 players max.
Where would I then find a server list for IF in the interwebz?

None that I know of.
MP population has dropped to less then 20 people across 5 servers[3 of those are listen servers running off someones desktop].
there are maybe 80 servers running but empty 24/7 pretty much any time of the day or night.
MP is dead for this game.
worth to buy ..Yes and get some good hax if u wanna survive on DayZ servers there are tons of cheaters with TWS Rifles. if u dont want Dayz you should play ACE

This is not exactly true, it seems to depend on your timezone, I live in GMT and I was playing on a server (414's server) and it had an almost full server playing MOUT, and there were at least 3 servers that were more full, (a C&H server had 80+ players on it)

Nuff said. Obviously 103 < 20, ofcourse. (Screenshot taken in post time).

So 1 server in russia that has occasional player count spikes equals a living breathing MP community for a month old game?
No Anti-cheat + Russians = Lot of. uh....fun
You guys remind of the Dragon Rising forum crowd.

Way better than No Anti-cheat + Canadians, belive me.

Yes, it's a fact that Canadians rank #1 in the hacker hall of fame.
All the leaderboards for every FPS that has them is plastered with with Canadian flags.
hullo there
Regardless, BE is slated for the 1.03 patch so that will help a little.

Never said they were.
But a simple check of any game leaderboard and it's pretty much Russian flags and [RUS] tags and who are the source of hacked servers, even hacked ranked servers on Battlefield are Russian.

My bad you simply implied it.
Anyhoo a quick check last night showed about 80 players across maybe 8-10 servers

That is considered "dead" in the gaming world.
If the OP is still wondering, don't buy it.

Wait for the next patch (out soon), then you'll know.

I wish you were right, I really do, but traditionally, no matter how good a later patch is, the game will remain dead.
Look at RO2. Game released like dog shit (comparable to this game) and even though it's really good now, it'll never gain the players back (there will be a very small community)

I really hope not, this game deserves more IMHO.

I'm afraid Gossamer is correct.
Deserves or not maybe this should have stayed an ArmA addon after all, the step up to complete game is bigger than most expect I guess.
Reading all the modules there is pure ArmA2 content looking for USMC, CDF, RU, INS and GUR factions shows the release was rushed so asking customers to be patient now for the patch is something that leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
But as always, it's easier to put expectations on others than on oneself.
IFL was born dead, it could never live on the the exspectations. I was exspecting a WWII ArmA OA but what I got is half baked and only half functional. Whole factions missing (RES, CIV) Modules missing or not working at all (ALICE, ACM, SECOPS, etc)
And the best part is that they keep the patches to themself...Patch was claimed to be ready last week, changelog is released but still no patch.
MP on that ONE pvp server that is up is uncoordinated and performce is rather bad, grenades are lag instead of frag weapons and AT often simply does not work correct in MP, trenches kill you and the wheat fields give no concealment at all at distance, range setting for tank guns is off beyond 1000m and the tank damage model is more than strange.
After some days of frustration it is more than natural that most player give up and go back to ArmA.

Gotta love how Steam manages to punish us who's avoiding steam as much as possible.
No way to get away is there?

hey guy's
i need some help for registration. i bought arma2 OP on steam and if i want to play online i have to register. when i clicked on register it brought me on the ArmA official page which there is no link to register. I searched everywhere on that page and it wasn't there. If there is a link please leave a thread below and its the same thing if there isn't just tell me step by step how to register.

A lot of the pretty cool elements that make IFL unique aren't done very well either due to the limitations they have (not direct access to the engine).
Moving AT guns in multiplayer is a joke, it lags really bad and you can't free-look without it forcing you to look forward again. Then I spent like 2 minutes pushing an AT gun the other way and I warped to the edge of the map.
Towing AT guns looks foolish too in MP as they warp around behind you.
The armor system also renders functionality of the 'killed' eventHandler useless, which restricts what scripters can do.
The game was a good idea, it just wasn't executed very well at all.

Game is worth buying for the multi player how ever, the multi player is pretty much dead.
Unless you have a good set of buddies to play with the game will be no fun :/
If anyone is looking to play Iron Front add me on steam : Diego1255 or PM me, thanks
