I'm missing a special stealth mode for choppers for missions when you're surveilling or marking an object with a laser pointer (Kiowa). It should be a flight mode which is without movement and nearly without moise.

Some helicopters are quiet. I've been under Sea King when it lands and its f**king noisy, but modern helicopters, such as the RAH-66 Commanche are up to 60% quieter. The noise is mainly caused by the air from the tail rotor colliding with the air from the main rotor, creating a wash which is really f**king loud. However on newer helicopters, the tail rotor is encased and so its does make the helicopter quiet.

So, you obviously still have a lot to hear Screaming!

I was watching 'All Quiet on the Western Front' earlier today, starring Ernest Borgnine (however you spell that). That brought back the Airwolf memories. My flatmate at university was obsessed with Jan Michael-Vincent.

Fair point, but because helis generally use jet turbine engines, the difference, over all isn't THAT much less noisy... especially as 100db is 10x 90db, it doesn't matter if you knock 60% off, it's still going to be VERY loud. BTW Main rotors with more wings are less noisy. RAH-66 has 5 wings in rotor AFAIR.
