View Full Version : Does TOH supplement ArmA 2 and vise versa?
Hey guys, so recently I've been getting into the idea of purchasing Take On Helicopters. It looks like a fantastic game for an up and coming pilot like myself, the flight model looks quite impressive. One question that I have relating to TOH and ArmA 2 is this: do ArmA 2 and TOH combine if both are installed (like OA and vanilla combining to make CO)? I noticed that some of the TOH maps are ArmA 2 maps (i.e. Takistan). So do the vehicles and combat of ArmA 2 mold into TOH with the two games acting as one? Relentless googling has not presented me with any credible answers to this question.

You can import ArmA2 maps into TOH. Not without possible bugs of course (mostly script errors - obviously one needs a knowledge how to fix them).
And other ArmA2 addons as well. At least I think I've seen a screenshot with a chopper from some ArmA2 mod in Take On.
I doubt it's possible (as in 'allowed') to port maps from Take On - but there's no point. Maps from Take On are way too low detailed on the ground (next to no bushes, buildings are not enterable, everything is low poly but select few landmarks). They will simply be too boring to play as infantry. However if you are one for tank/chopper missions then I guess South Asia/Seattle fits what you'd want.
Take On certainly can be played as ArmA but something (common sense) tells me AI was nerfed to save CPU power during missions involving infantry which Take On has.
Ok thanks for this info, much appreciated. :)
