So I read that there will fuel and ammo management. Does that mean my units will not be able to be deployed permanently? They will have to return to base to rearm, repair, and refuel?

Also I would love to know how the supply lines work is it a magic transporter type? or another unit that i get to manage? I haven't seen any gameplay of the supply situation.

I have been waiting a long time and wishing very hard for a carrier game to come out. In my head I saw myself managing the flight deck and hanger and having persistent pilots who have different skills and issues. and different aircraft that are designed for different roles. deep organizational options and tons of ways to design tactics for the units (such as return to base automatically when a certain amount of damage is sustained.)

I am going off topic. so I will end it here but if anyone wants to hear more about my ideas I have a ton.

Based on what I've learned so far, and the fact that I've played the original game which this new one will be heavily based upon, I got some answers for you.

Your units will have to replenish their ammunition, like missiles and bombs, but certain weapons types are inexhaustible, like lasers (if they make a comeback in this remake). They will also have to return for refueling. Repairs are a given they will have to get from time to time, provided they aren't destroyed before returning.

In the first game, one's Mantas (planes) could land on airfields on the islands to refuel (no repair or rearming possible in that game) so in theory it was possible to have the planes work outside of the carrier in a form of pseudo-permanence in tandem with a signal booster. But I ask why would you want that?

But there is a strategic value in having the option of doing such a thing for laying a trap or the like, so I wonder if airfields will be a part of the new game.

As for supply lines, I guess it works just like in the old game. As long as you have a connecting supply line from your home island, you will get resources and be able to produce necessary equipment and reserve vehicles from factory islands. I suppose the transfer of supplies between islands is a background event, like in the first game. From island to carrier is something I'm not sure of, a submarine was the delivery method in the first game though.

I've also wanted to have a real-life carrier simulator for quite some time. While this game is going to be awesome in its own right, I would like to see such a game as well. The thing with a carrier is that it wasn't purely an aircraft launching, sea-faring platform. It was also used as a floating headquarters for special ops units. The game, when such is made, should allow all aspects of carrier management to be implemented.

Question though, would you like it to be a modern carrier sim or a WWII carrier sim? Or perhaps have either era available for play?

All of the above info is perfect. I am extremely excited about this game suddenly. I did a post elsewhere about a carrier sim I wanted and we are totally on the same page.

It would need to be a modern or even slightly futuristic setting. MAYBE EVEN SPACE!!!!!!!! mind=blown. haha

A modern carrier's main concern is providing close in ground support for troops in theater. I can see it now: A infantry unit taking heavy fire call up for an airstrike and you task a flight of 2 f-18s to support. the flight takes over direct communication with the ground unit and the setup a plan of attack. Or you could order an attack yourself based on what the troops need.

The futuristic
