I've installed ArmA2, yet when i click on the shortcut i have a message saying missing .dll file???

i've looking on the other forums and aprently its a direct x prblem, i currently have the newest version directx11. Yet when i try to start ArmA2 Free, it just gives me a error message?

Any fixes or suggstions, ive reinstalled the game 5 times :/

Already discussed a gazilliion times and entering the full filename of said .dll in the search would have revealed numberous threads about it, like this one:

In short, the "11" isn't a version number but more like part of the product description. So you just miss DirectX9. Install it and you're good to go.

I wonder why did the game itself not include directx version which needed to play the game instead we should download it somewhere else

I can only do guesswork but i think it is this way: opposite to how DirectX really acts (like different software, not like different versions of the same software) a check for directX version can only check if actual is >= 9.0c, so DX11 detected will prevent from autoinstall to kick in. Afaik DirectX9 is on the disc.

what installer you use, it's possible that from standalone installer the DirectX redist was removed to keep the size small
(the redist is 105MB so ~10% of the free version install)
