Hi,
so I played the game for several hours and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. I sure did enjoy playing the missions because I like plane simulation games but this doesn't look like a new game.
I have the impression that Take On Helicopters is an addon for Arma. Same old UI, same old sounds, same old graphics :(
I look anyway forward to playing the final release but I was just expecting something new :(

Is there an editor for TOH like in Arma2?
if so make your own missions if you enjoyed the missions.

Spot the van I'm following. Even though I knew where it was going, I lost it after a few km. Sometimes the driving was somewhat erratic and led to the loss of situational awareness. Lose sight and its difficult to spot him again.
Try it youtself. guaranteed fun.
too bad I couldnt make the follow script to work. land and hover were easier so its pretty quick to make simple transport missions. others I have not tried yet. The map is huge even in its lite form so you can easily set up some pretty hairy hovering or landing missions. up to you really since its still a beta. <- key word also why you shouldnt lose sights on this awesome piece of software. at least give the curtesy to wait till its published in its finished form before bashing. When in doubt about graphics quality check the environment screenshots at takeonhelicopters dot com.

I dont plan on getting this, if i wanted to fly around i can do it in Arma2CO, and get addons that are more civilian like,
plus i dont fly that much, and if i do its mostly fighter jets, or military choppers.
Graphic quality is limited to what your GPu can render, as well as what your cpu can process, I dont doubt the graphics are decent.
is there an editor like Arma2 in the game, or just a scenario builder?

the flying is VERY different in this compared to arma2 physics. very different. plus there is the career mode with owning your choppers and heliport. arma3 how ever will possibly have this flight model. Hh and yes, there is an editor just like the one in arma.
Anyway. You are right ofcourse. Its not everyone's cup of tea and most will fancy shooting at things over peacful job simulation, though an exiting one.
But like with arma, the possibilities are near endless. there are weapons already and with the things we've seen before with arma modding... no telling where this one will end

The TOH editor is just as powerful as the A2 one, plus it's got a shiny new interface :)
And shooting is not excluded from TOH, rest assured.

Flying in Arma 2 and TKOH is completely different because of the difference in flight model and environment variables influencing the flight.

UI looks the "same", but I can't really say I expected anything revolutionary. Then again, we are able to customize parts of it, which I didn't expect earlier.
Only seen the videos, and nothing really new to the sounds or sound engine. One reviewer said it also: We can hear birds tweet and other choppers from far away while in a noisy helicopter. Also I don't hear those fancy stereo sounds I heard in the trailer.
As for same old graphics (although there is a lot new of course), why not? I don't have a problem of games being a bit on the recycle path. Recycling is good for the environment you know :p
Although I'll probably get it if only for being supportive, as I do have serious doubts about my current hw. Plus, I'm just burning inside to dissect the pbo's and learn something new.
