Ive been having this annoying problem since updating the steam version to 1.18 (win 64 bit). The RC and final 1.18 patches arent changing anything. I dont need to update my drivers or my video card (the game worked perfectly pre 1.18) Please help!!!

OK, in your Steam Library, right click on Arma in the list, select properties.
Click the local files tab
Choose Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

After doing that, things only got worse, the main menu is a series of grey colorless backround fixed with horrendous framerates and choppy music, and the menu icons appear as black splotches

What are your computer specs?
OS
CPU
GPU
ramm
another option would be to uninstall and reinstall.

It's got to be down to specs, that's an awful looking picture, I feel for you :)

Well no its not my specs, I had been running the game perfectly for about a year, then i transferred over to 1.18 (steam version) and all these problems started happening

Post your specs anyways, should always post them for graphic related problems.
If anything uninstall and reinstall.

I use Windows 7 64 bit, I have 4 gigs of ram, I3 processor, I have a crappy Dell integrated graphics card, but again thats not the problem - also i have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 30 times (no joke)

I'm also having a problem with the new patch. Specs
Windows 7 64-bit
I3
4 Gig
Intel integrated graphics (i think integrated graphics cards are having trouble with 1.18)
I would say its my gpu but I downloaded the demo a few months before the patch and it ran like a dream, no hiccups. I finally get around to putting down a few dollars on a great game and now it crashes at the atari screen.
I've uninstalled everything (Arma and BattleEye) and reinstalled it. Do i need to uninstall anything else to make a clean reinstall?
I've also found the crash files (.rpt). Does anyone know where i should send them?

Can Bohemia post the 1.14 version on steam for a few days then go back to 1.18? I would greatly appreciate it
Or could we possibly be given Sprocket versions of the game?

Got game crash? Do this
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=110823
Submit to Dwarden your crash and issues.
As for steam, id uninstall the game and get the game on disc, then you can revert all you want.

W7?
How would a Steam user tell the ArmA.exe to "Run as Administrator"?
I do not have Steam.
It may or may not help.
