Island features

What island features can we expect? I remember the old game had occasional volcanoes and landing strips for the carriers Mantas.

I would like it if these made a return and if the planet had some sporadic ruins of ancient civilizations

I Imagine they could go to town with them, Ports, Coves, Mountains. I think its more interesting what we as players can do....
