Can we play the single player missions like Manhattan on a dedicated server?

Is there a guide for that, what files to modify, or how to do it?

Sry, I am new to Arma and the documentation for the Server is somewhat lacking...

You can play SP missions np just put them in the missions folder on the ftp of the server. Is this a server you are
running or is it a gameserver you are renting from a company?

But like in SP when you die unless the mission has someway for you to either change to another role,
or a way for you to come back and play where u left off the mission will end for you, SP missions are like one life missions.

If you wanted to convert a mission to Mp then you would have to edit the mission and add some sort of Mp respawn
depending on what you wanted the most basic would be respawn at a base marker which means that every time you
die no matter where u are you will respawn at a certain spot everytime.

then for the respawning you would need to add a description.ext script which enables you to respawn.

Hi and thx for the reply!

Well this is one Server I did set up myself on a linux host. I just want to play in coop with one friend and two AIs the mission Manhattan and/or Razor Two. What do I have to do, what file do I need to upload and where to?

I think we could just save and reload if mission failes.

Big THX!

welcome.
I dont know really anything about linux, but when you host an mpgame if you wanted to play a sp mission then
you would have to move the sp mission you want to play to the mp missions folder in your main directory,
then the mission should show up under the island that the mission was built on.

So I would move missions.pbo into MPMissions?

Where are the single player campaign missions in ARMA? I wanted missions like Razor Two.

What you do is get cpbo
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=5845&highlight=CPBO

and in the addons folder of your Arma2 directory look for the missions.pbo unpbo it, and a folder with all the sp missions, mp missions, armorey stuff, ect,. will show up.
go into the Scenarios folder where all the sp missions are and move them into your mpmissions folder, and that should give you all the sp missions to pick from in mp.

In the campaigns folder there is a folder that says missions, go into that folder and move all them missions to mpmissions and you should be able to play the campaigns in mp.
campaigns may not work like i said but try it.
The boot camp missions should work though.

Thank you very much! Will try!

Well the campaign missions do show up, but they seem to be essentially unplayable as you just get dropped into the map somewhere but the mission does not trigger... :(

So there seems to be no other way than playing on VPN....

Easiest way to play the campagn with friends is to goto -> campaign -> host -> then let your friends connect to your computer, just leave the dedi out of it. :)

Copy that! Why do all the work when you are able to play the campaign on hosted server...

But be prewarned of some bugs while playing the campaign in COOP mode... ;)

THX Folks! Will try. Bugs are bad since I wanted to show Arma to this friend :(

I am considering Razor Two or Manhattan to play together, what is the best way to do so? What slot should the other player take, so that we still have AI driver and pilot?

The most annoying bugs in Harvest Red campaign are endmission bugs. Sometimes mission will not just end normally no matter what you do. The best workaround I know is to kick your friend off the server and complete the last task/objective alone and this way the mission should complete with debriefing and unlocking next mission.

I would recommend playing Manhattan, since Razor Two has a time limit (I hate time limits) and it completes early...
...if you run into Bardak before collecting all the evidence.

You should play as player 1 Cooper, your friend should maybe play as player 2 Sykes since hitting with sniper is easier for beginner than hitting with any weapons players 3 or 4 use.

When patrolling with vehicles I would let number 3 AI to be the gunner. AI is good in gunning since he rarely friendly fires.

Or if it all breaks down and you cant move on to the next mission you may use a workaround by forcing the mission to end and the next one to load.

Or if it all breaks down and you cant move on to the next mission you may use a workaround by forcing the mission to end and the next one to load.

I have recently completed all Harvest Red missions in multiplayer cooperative with 1.54-1.57 patches without endmission cheat and I can tell you "can't move in the mission start"-bugs that existed in old patches in all missions starting "Delaying The Bear" are all fixed.

I do not recommend using endmission cheat. It will create unwanted side effects. It will mess up the decisions and list of completed tasks you have made in earlier missions and also choose one of the variable endings randomly. Beeing patient and using better workarounds than those cheats is worth it.

Just ask me about workarounds if you are stuck in any ending.

Big thx folks!

We will try tomorrow!

Just one (maybe stupid question): playing in COOP does not mess up with the decisions from singleplayer? :)

Actually I have never played SP, but I know SP savegames and progress are saved to different folder so if you want to make sure, backup contents of that directory (see file dates to indentify and compare them to the date when you last played SP, I assume you have some progress in there otherwise you would not worry about such things).

There are quite few information if SP and MP campaign are interconnected and after reading this report you will just get more confused:
http://dev-heaven.net/issues/15016

Maybe someone else who has played same campaign both in SP and in MP (coop) can verify this to us.
