Arma 2 OA patch wont install?

I just got a new hard drive, so i decided to install windows 7 64bit on to it and Arma 2 OA. When I try to update it i get his message.
"arma 2 is not installed on your computer or installation is corrupted" I have checked the registry and every thing is linked up to the right directory. The game will run but the patch's will not install. Non of them will. I tried all 8.

I know how you feel dude. Ive jest reinstalled arma2 and now can't patch it as i get the same message. The same with OA it doesnt see that A2 is installed either. but Ive had this reply from BIS helpdesk after asking about which directory the game should install into as I have vista 64:

"Arma 2 does not have 64 bit version, so it is installed into C:\Program
Files (x86) folder by default. The installation path and the path
written in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432Node/Bohemia Interactive
Studio/ArmA 2/MAIN must be exactly the same. I recommend checking the
MAIN and copy the correct path there. If there is no MAIN whatsoever,
create a new String value called Main (or MAIN, I don't think it
matters)."

Errm....this are the Armed Assault 1 forums, are u sure your are in the correct game/forums?

ArmA2OA is for ArmA2 only of course.
