I assumed everyone knew about this, so when one of my long standing clanmates said he couldn't transmit in Teamspeak while flying with the joystick without going handsoff, I was quite surprised.
Players can of course, use voice activated, but no-one wants to hear me shouting at the cat in game. As neither Mumble or Teamspeak allow you to have a joystick button as a push-to-talk key, this application can be very useful.
You will still have to have a transmit key on the keyboard or mouse (I use right mouse button), but this application takes a button on the joystick and then maps that to the chosen keyboard/mouse button.
It has other uses too. I have the default map key as "m", but I've also got this application mapping a joystick button to "m" so that I can have a very quick map look while flying, thereby lessening the chance of a pesky ground/interface violation. :)
Similar for eject. Accidental ejects are a pain, so I've changed the default keystroke to one that's not likely to be accidentally pressed, but then mapped that to a button on the top of the joystick, one that's easily within reach, but not likely to be pressed unless I really mean to press it.
If you've enough buttons on your joystick, and my cheapo Saitek Cyborg Evo has, you really don't need to take your hands off the stick when flying if you set it up right.
Anyway, enough babble, here's the baby. Works in XP and Win7 64.
