Hi all,

Been having an issue with ArmA 2.

I reinstalled it for the first time in a long time. I've changed my RAM and video card since the last time I played it.

When I start a game, it will occasional freeze, then go to a black or white screen, then I'll get the "receiving..." screen, then it will resume as normal. Time between these freezes is sometime 20 minutes, sometimes 30 seconds. Usually seems to happen about 5 minutes. I suspect it's a video card issue. Something to do with the two GPUs in my graphics card?

Thanks,
-Kevin.

I disabled one of my GPUs and that fixed the problem. Strange. I'll have to remember to reactivate it before I start playing a more modern game. :)

Now that was a useless post. How does that pertain to his question? Post count doesn't indicate intelligence

Anyways...is your CPU/GPU Clocked? Are you synced with the game? How about the setting(s) in the game. What OS are you running. 64bit? 32bit? I suggest to perform a process of elimination. I know exactly what you're talking about. I get those too (very irritating). However not that long though. Here are my specs for reference:

• EVGA E759 Classified Limited Edition 3-Way SLI
• Intel Core i7 920
• Swiftech H20-220-APEX
• Corsair Dominators x3 2Gb
• Corsair 1000HX PSU
• x3 EVGA GeForce GTX 285 1GB in TRi-SLi
• X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro
• Windows 7 Home 64bit
• x4 150Gb VelociRaptors in Raid 1+0
• x1 WD Caviar Green 2TB (Storage)
• Asus LCD 25.5" 2MS HDMI Monitor (1920x1200)
• Saitek Cyborg Keyboard
• Saitek Cyborg R.A.T 7 Mouse
• Kilpsch Pro Media 5.1's
• Kandalf Full Tower Case (extremely modded)

EDIT:

Ooops...sorry. Now that I got my foot in my mouth can you help me pull it out? I didn't look close enough to see that you posted twice. Nevermind. Sorry...

No no no. That was me. I'm the OP and the replier. I fixed my own problem by disabling one of my GPU cores. Works fine now, and I can still run everything at high with a good frame rate, too.

I've never disabled one of the cores before though. I had a real Jurassic Park "Hold on to your butts" moment doing so. :butbut:

Yes, I feel like a total ass.

Anyways...at your comment of "Jurassic Park" LMAO!!! thanks. That kind of softens the blow a little. Thank you
