First I want to say that I'm very grateful and impressed with Bohemia continuing to patch this excellent game. It just keeps getting better and better, which will only increase sales of this game.

But one problem still exists, which is the first and 3rd person shooting bug. Point your gun at an enemy in 3rd person view at point blank range and shoot at him. You'll miss. Then switch to reticle view "V." You'll notice that your sights are way off target. So unless you are in first person view and usally in reticle view, you'll miss your target.

I really wish Bohemia could fix this bug. It's been around since the game has been released and it still hasn't been fixed. Please fix this. You have such a better situational awareness in 3rd person view and it's very difficult to switch back to first person view and shoot the enemy in time before they get you. Thanks!

I would never use the 3rd person view
to shoot. The difference of the 2 views
seems to be realistic for me. Have you
ever tried shooting with a weapon,
without aiming?

Mr DV Chris Death,

So you are saying that in real life you need your gunsights to hit something at a range of 1m?

Read angrysquirrels post again, he clearly says "at point blank range".

Yes, and preferably you need to prone so you can get a steady shoot. If youre lucky he will lag so much and dont notice you. Real life, I swear http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Someone else made this comment but it's a feature... the 3rd person view isnt a view from the gun. chances are it looks like your aiming right at the target but you are actualy not..

That reticule is more like a center screen target and there is a delay between the weapon and the actual reticule.

This is a FPS, not a TPS, go play Diablo, EverQuest, or Infantry

I know what you mean!, sometimes you gotta use 3rd person, like when commanding, you find yourself face to face with a bad guy and you just dont have time to fumble around for the 1st pers' button!, so you let fly a few slugs at him and they hit the clouds!, mind you it does help if you're not moving and the reticules line up quick enough, plus i've got my weapon select key toggled so's my left pinkies on it all the time, burst fire an' empty the clip!!,:>

on our server we specifically disabled crosshair and 3rd person view, there's no use in a leader seeing over hilltops or outside houses he's in. cheating in my book.

and if you come across an enemy grunt, in point blank range, you switch to burst / automatic, and let out short bursts, watch the tracers, and move your "aim" accordingly, until there is no enemy, but peace! :)

with the m60 / pk it's a treat, you just run towards the bastard and let go. mämämämämmmäts.
