You have not been able to host a game - ok.
Have you been able to join a host yet?
If both doesn't work - just one of several
reasons it could have - try to run DXDIAG
(direct-X diagnostics) - if you see there
any errors at the network - just reinstall
DX.

are you using the Standalone or the Server command for OFP.exe?
What Version are you using?
Did you install 1.3? did you remove the 1.29 Weapon addons (Bizon ect) they will conflict with 1.30
Your DirX Net work should be fine since OFP does not hamper ot change that in any way, but checking it is Fine to rule it out
Are you trying this on Game Spy?
Have you been able to Host OFP Before?

Yes I can join.
No I don't use gamespy
I'm using DX 8.1 (XP DUH!)
I'm running 1.30 up from 1.20
I use the standalone not Dedicated.
Maybe its fire wall related? Are you using a router or dsl internal modem? What type of firewall are you using (if any)?

Some have said that turnin off the Internet Conection Sharing will solve the problem
Not sure how to do it on XP, should be in the properties in the Network neighboorhood (if XP has one) right click on it and hit properties
As for you USB Net, they can be a bit buggy, I have one on this computer here (at grammas she has this Compaq 300 mhz and a 1 ghz Athalon beside it to my right ) because it has no open slots, when it come to gamming and hard cor Net use a 10/100 NIC should always be used

I've never had a problem with my modem. I could host before XP, and I can still join so it's not my modem.
